Summary:
The Colorado Springs World Arena owns and independently operates The Broadmoor World Arena,
the premier sports and entertainment venue in southern Colorado, and the adjacent World Arena Ice
Hall. The Arena is a 7,500-seat multipurpose facility and the Ice Hall, with two sheets of ice, is a US
Olympic and Paralympic Committee-designed Olympic Training Site for the U.S. Figure Skating and
home of The Broadmoor Skating Club. CSWA also operates, under contract with El Paso County, the
2,000-seat Pikes Peak Center for the Performing Arts, home of the Colorado Springs Philharmonic
Orchestra.
In coordination with and at the direction of the Senior Operations Manager, this position is primarily
responsible for IT, Internet and Telephone Support, Internal Security Systems, as well as assisting
with facility conversion and housekeeping as needed for the Arena, Ice Hall, and Pikes Peak Center.
Job Functions:
➢ Design, implement, and maintain the arena’s IT infrastructure, including wired/wireless
networks, servers, switches, routers, and firewalls.
➢ Ensure 24/7 network reliability for business operations, event management, and guest Wi-Fi.
➢ Manage connectivity for media, production teams, and third-party vendors during events.
➢ Provide on-site IT support during events, concerts, and sporting events.
➢ Coordinate technology needs for promoters, touring crews, teams, and event production staff.
➢ Conduct regular risk assessments, backups, and disaster recovery planning.
➢ Maintain building management systems (BMS), digital signage, IPTV, and surveillance
systems.
➢ Oversee technology vendors, managed service providers, and software license agreements.
➢ Support AV, scoreboard, and control room systems in coordination with operations staff.
➢ Assist in preparation of annual budget for Department and Capital Improvements Projects
Budget within the scope of the IT department.
➢ Develop and implement written protocols and SOPs related to common IT related and
troubleshooting tasks.
➢ Assist in training and supervise relevant department staff in conducting basic IT
troubleshooting and support-related tasks.
➢ Organize and maintain orderly and clearly marked workspaces / well labeled and documented
networking infrastructure.
➢ Coordinate decommissioning and disposal of last-gen equipment.
➢ Be proactive in contributing through-out the department and with other departments in
assisting everyone to do their respective job(s) quicker, safer, and more efficiently. Self motivate when it appears that all tasking is completed.
➢ Participate in Department staff coverage for events.
➢ On occasion help direct / lead / supervise teams in conducting changeover.
➢ Assist in training staff on changeover and housekeeping related tasks.
➢ Assist in supervising line level housekeeping staff when needed.
➢ Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
➢ Must have excellent customer service skills with a willing and pleasant attitude.
➢ Must have strong communication skills in the English language with attention to detail.
➢ Experience in the repair and maintenance of related building systems.
➢ Minimum of Associates’ Degree preferred; Bachelor’s Degree is highly preferred.
➢ Must be able to take direction, prioritize assignments, and give tasks to employees.
➢ Must be able to work irregular hours; including evenings, weeknights, weekends and
holidays.
➢ Proficient computer skills including knowledge of windows-based computers, word
processing, spreadsheet, presentation applications and Internet navigation.
➢ Ability to work independently, but still as a part of the overall team atmosphere helping
promoters, tenants, clients, co-workers and managers as required.
➢ Ability to work under pressure in a live event environment.
➢ Must have a valid Driver’s License

Intellectual/Social demands:
• While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is continuously asked to multi-task under time
limits. Position requires constant attention to precise details and accuracy of specified standards including:
following simple to complex (more than 3 steps) instructions, and concentration which frequently extends beyond
30 minutes at a time. Employees in this role will constantly be in leadership role; this requires directing others either
verbally or in writing to complete tasks in prescribed time frame. This position also requires constant use of
interpersonal skills including: ability to direct/motivate/inform staff and foster collaboration, being able to recognize
and resolve conflicts, being able to openly communicate in writing and verbally with clients.
Physical demands:
• While performing the essential functions of the job, the employee occasionally moves about inside the office to
access storage areas, cabinets and office machinery; constantly moves about the facilities and production sites to
service clients and monitor work; constantly communicates via telephone, email and in-person with others to
exchange accurate information.
Work environment:
• The essential functions of this position are usually performed indoors. The noise level in the work
environments is usually moderate to loud during events and minimal during non-event times.
