Fibertek, Inc. is a leading developer of laser and electro-optic systems for the aerospace community, with key contributions to lasers for atmospheric sensing, laser communications, and lidar sensors for NASA, DoD, and commercial customers. We are looking for an experienced Senior Buyer to purchase goods and services according to departmental and organizational policies and procedures. As a Senior Buyer, you’ll play a crucial role in sourcing and purchasing goods and services for our organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Administer Purchase Orders for goods and services across all divisions of Fibertek, supporting various task orders and programs according to the company’s policies and procedures
• Obtain & evaluate competitive & non-competitive supplier quotes for purchase and cost proposals
• Expedite Purchase Orders throughout lifecycle to ensure on-time delivery and reduce potential risk
• Negotiate terms and conditions with Suppliers to obtain the best pricing and lead time
• Evaluates vendors based on price, reliability, capability, and previous transaction history
• Collaborate with Suppliers and Accounts Payable on Supplier Invoices for accurate and timely payments
• Liaise with the Warehouse and Suppliers to reconcile any shipping discrepancies and/or packing slips.
• Maintain Supplier records in MRP, updating files as required
• Assists in other responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with proven negotiation skills
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Thorough understanding of purchasing procedures and policies
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience considered
• Deltek Costpoint experience preferred but not required
• 10 Years of buying or purchasing related experience preferred
• Space Flight parts purchasing experience preferred but not required
