About This Position

The iLead substitute teacher will assist the academy by providing additional staffing when the center requires extra support to ensure the program's success.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: • Education Professional Standards Board shall issue a one (1) year emergency certificate for substitute teaching to any applicant who possesses a minimum of a high school diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma. • The Education Professional Standards Board shall issue a five (5) year certificate for substitute teaching to any applicant who possesses a bachelor's degree in any subject area from a regionally or nationally accredited postsecondary education institution.

Substitutes must be able to stand, sit, bend, and walk for periods of time to meet job requirements. Must have physical and TB test and be able to lift to 50 lbs. Must possess a valid driver’s license, automobile liability insurance and have reliable transportation to travel to and from work. Must clear and pass state criminal history records check and sex offender registry check prior to hire date and pass Child Abuse and Neglect state registry check (CAN) within 90 days of hire.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: To establish a learning situation for students that will meet the needs of each student at his/her own level. To ensure that each student will grow to his/her greatest intellectual ability, emotional development and psychological well-being.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reports to the iLEAD Director or designee upon arrival at the school building.
Reviews with the iLEAD Director all plans and schedules to be followed during the teaching day.
Maintains as fully as possible the established routines and procedures of the assigned classroom.
Teaches the lesson outlined and described in documents prepared by the absent teacher.
Consults, as appropriate, with the iLEAD Director before initiating any teaching or other procedures not specified in the absent teacher's lesson plan.
Assumes responsibility for overseeing pupil behavior in class and during lunch periods.
Reports in writing with notes left for the absent teacher the assignments made and comments regarding student behavior.
Follows all policies, rules, and procedures to which regular teachers are subject and which good teaching practice dictates.
Maintains regular attendance
Performs other duties as assigned
