SEACORP is seeking a well-qualified Micro Miniature Soldering Technician I, II ,III.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Job Summary: SEACORP is seeking 2M miniature and micro-miniature (M/M) Technicians atvarious levels. The Technician performs 2M miniature and micro-miniature(M/M) electronic repairs on circuit cards, modules, and assemblies used in U.S.Navy Navigation systems. This person plays a critical role in keepinghigh-value electronic systems operational by diagnosing and repairing circuitboards at the component level.

Job Responsibilities Include:

  • Collaborate with engineering and quality assurance personnel to ensure repairs meet standards.
  • Conduct soldering, rework, and precision component replacement under microscope using approved Navy repair standards.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electronic components in accordance with NAVSEA and DoD
    technical manuals.
  • Remove and replace micro components using soldering irons, hot air, and rework stations.
  • Perform soldering, assembly, rework, and inspection of electronic and microwave components using assembly drawings, work instructions, BOMs, and travelers.
  • Conduct precision soldering under a microscope, including surface mount and through-hole components, micro-assemblies, and RF/microwave parts.
  • Inspect solder joints and assemblies during and after production to ensure compliance with quality standards (IPC/J-STD knowledge preferred).
  • Familiarity with U.S. Navy maintenance procedures, Navy drawings, and MIL-STD documentation preferred.

Qualifications:

Education:

MicroMiniature Soldering Technician I, II, III - High School diploma or GED. J-STD 001 certification is required within a 3-month period of hiring.

Formal electronics training from: TechnicalSchool, or Class A or B military school in electronics or communications, orfour-year electronics apprentice program.

Formal electronics training, to include: Installation Tasks, Soldering,Cable Dressing, Cable Tray, Conduit, and Making/Repairing Connectors. current2M (Miniature/Micro-Miniature Electronic Repair) Certification - desired orwilling to obtain 2M certification.

In lieu of military training, J-STD 001certification is acceptable.

Experience:

MicroMiniature Soldering Technician I - Two years of experience, toinclude: electronics repair, maintenance and checkout.

Micro Miniature Soldering Technician II - Two years of experience, to include: electronics repair, maintenance and checkout.Must demonstrate at least one year of experience in electronicsinstallation.

Micro Miniature Soldering Technician III - Six years of experience, to include: Electronics Repair, Maintenance, Installationand Checkout. One year ofexperience to include: supervision, and shop practices. Two years of experience, toinclude: electronics repair and installation. Experience may be achievedsimultaneously. Four years of experience working with US Navy NavigationSystems.

As a requirement of employment, all SEACORP employees must hold U.S. Citizenship.

Work Environment & Physical Demands: This position operates in standard Office, Assembly Laboratory, and Aboard Vessel/Shipyard environments. Standard offices and laboratories: Sitting, standing, extended periods of time using a mouse and keyboard and viewing computer screens. Movement between points within the same office or between buildings. Work is performed in generally consistent environmental conditions with some seasonality for temperature differences and lighting. In shipyards and aboard vessels: Significant use of hands to operate equipment and tools. Significant lifting of <40 lbs.; occasional lifting >40 lbs. Sitting, stooping, bending, twisting, reaching, lying prone, and squatting on a daily basis. Work is performed in highly variable work conditions to include seasonable variations in weather and temperature. High probability of working in confined spaces where movement is restricted. Dust, noise and constant activity associated with the movements of materials and people, and the fabrication of steel, including welding and the use of overhead cranes/hoists. Personal Protective Equipment: safety shoes and hard hat required; hearing protection and safety glasses recommended.
