Erie Industrial Products (EIP) is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Estimator to join our manufacturing team in Oberlin, Ohio. This position plays an important role in developing accurate and competitive cost estimates for custom manufacturing projects while supporting customer needs and production objectives.

The ideal candidate has a strong technical or manufacturing background, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications. Previous estimating experience is preferred but not required, as we are willing to train candidates with relevant technical experience and a willingness to learn.

What You’ll Do

• Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for new and existing manufacturing projects.
Review and interpret blueprints, CAD models, engineering drawings, and customer specifications.
Calculate material costs, labor requirements, machine time, and other manufacturing expenses.
Collaborate with sales, engineering, purchasing, and production teams to develop accurate and cost-effective estimates.
Evaluate manufacturing processes, including machining, welding, fabrication, and assembly, to determine production feasibility.
Update estimates based on material pricing, customer requirements, and changes in manufacturing processes.
Prepare and maintain detailed estimating documentation to support customer quotations and internal planning.
Perform additional duties as assigned.

What We’re Looking For
2 to 5 years of experience in manufacturing, engineering, quality assurance, operations, technical sales, or a related field.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and technical specifications.
Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
General understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and production methods.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; experience with ERP/MRP systems is a plus.
Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with multiple departments.
Technical education in engineering, manufacturing, industrial technology, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
