Industrial Process Engineer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Industrial Process Engineer based in Canada.

This role offers the opportunity to support the deployment of innovative industrial technology solutions across manufacturing environments in the Americas.
You will combine industrial engineering expertise, automation knowledge, and project delivery skills to help customers optimize their operations.
The position involves working directly with plant teams, technical stakeholders, and engineering specialists to ensure successful software implementation.
You will contribute to technical validation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and operational improvement initiatives at customer sites.
The role is ideal for a hands-on engineer who enjoys solving complex industrial challenges and bridging business needs with technical solutions.
You will gain international exposure while supporting the adoption of advanced optimization technologies within large-scale industrial environments.

Accountabilities:

As an Industrial Process Engineer, you will support the implementation and delivery of industrial software solutions by working closely with customer teams and internal engineering experts. You will ensure successful deployment, operational readiness, and continuous improvement throughout project lifecycles.

  • Execute implementation, commissioning, testing, and start-up activities at customer manufacturing facilities.
  • Validate industrial connectivity, communication systems, signals, and data availability required for software deployment.
  • Support configuration reviews, operational validation, and deployment of industrial optimization solutions.
  • Serve as the technical bridge between plant operations and internal Engineering, Data Science, and Project Delivery teams.
  • Gather operational requirements, identify technical challenges, and translate plant needs into actionable implementation plans.
  • Coordinate functional and technical testing with automation, maintenance, IT/OT, and engineering stakeholders.
  • Document project progress, configuration updates, technical issues, and implementation milestones.
  • Collect operational data, system logs, technical evidence, and customer feedback to support troubleshooting and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with Project Managers to coordinate activities, manage risks, and ensure successful project execution.
  • Support customer training, knowledge transfer, and adoption of implemented solutions.
  • Share lessons learned and contribute to improving implementation methodologies and engineering practices.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate is an industrial engineering professional with experience in manufacturing environments, automation systems, and technical project delivery. You should be comfortable working directly with customers, troubleshooting complex technical issues, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across different regions.

  • Degree or equivalent technical background in Industrial Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience delivering industrial technology, automation, commissioning, or implementation projects within manufacturing environments.
  • Hands-on experience working at industrial plant sites during implementation and commissioning phases.
  • Strong understanding of industrial automation, control systems, instrumentation, SCADA, historians, OPC, industrial communications, and IT/OT environments.
  • Experience collaborating with plant operators, maintenance teams, automation engineers, and customer stakeholders.
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues during deployment, testing, and commissioning activities.
  • Strong documentation, organization, and project coordination skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively across technical and international teams.
  • Ability to work independently while traveling regularly to customer locations across the Americas.
  • Professional fluency in English is required.
  • Spanish proficiency is highly preferred for collaboration with international teams.
  • Experience with industrial optimization, Advanced Process Control (APC) platforms, or industrial analytics solutions is a plus.
  • Familiarity with project management tools such as Jira is beneficial.
  • Previous consulting or customer-facing technical implementation experience is preferred.
  • Experience in industries such as cement, mining, metals, chemicals, pulp and paper, or other process industries is an advantage.
