Accountabilities:

The Online Teacher, AP Environmental Science will be responsible for delivering impactful virtual instruction, supporting student growth, and contributing to an engaging global learning experience. Key responsibilities include:

  • Plan and deliver live, high-quality AP Environmental Science lessons tailored to the needs of diverse international students.
  • Create an interactive and supportive online classroom environment using effective teaching strategies and digital learning tools.
  • Teach key concepts including ecosystems, sustainability, energy resources, environmental challenges, and human impacts on natural systems.
  • Assess student performance, provide constructive feedback, and adapt teaching approaches to improve learning outcomes.
  • Develop course schedules, lesson plans, assessments, homework assignments, tests, and examination materials.
  • Prepare students for Advanced Placement curriculum requirements and College Board examinations.
  • Manage online classroom activities through learning platforms, ensuring assignments, resources, and assessments are organized and accessible.
  • Contribute to the development of high-quality educational resources and continuously improve teaching materials.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and internal teams to support student success.
  • Participate in a collaborative international teaching community focused on innovation and academic excellence.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate is an experienced educator with strong subject knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a passion for technology-enabled learning. Required and preferred qualifications include:

  • Minimum of 5 years of high school teaching experience (Grades 9–12) in a formal school setting; tutoring experience alone does not meet this requirement.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Environmental Science or a related discipline.
  • Strong understanding of the AP Environmental Science curriculum and College Board examination requirements.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage students, families, and colleagues effectively.
  • Experience using online teaching platforms and digital education tools.
  • Ability to create engaging, student-centered learning experiences in a virtual classroom environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage schedules, assessments, and multiple student needs effectively.
  • Passion for innovative education and a commitment to helping students achieve their academic goals.
  • Preferred experience includes a recognized teaching qualification, such as a teaching license, education degree, or postgraduate teaching certification.
  • Previous online teaching experience and experience preparing students for AP examinations are highly valued.
