SEACORP is seeking a well-qualified Network Engineer (Linux).

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Job Summary: SEACORP is currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Network Engineer to join our IT Infrastructure team. The Network Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting enterprise network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and security. This position may work primarily in-house or be assigned to project teams supporting external clients. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver with strong technical expertise in enterprise networking technologies and a commitment to delivering exceptional service.

Job Responsibilities Include:

  • Design, implement, and maintain enterprise LAN, WAN, wireless, and data center network infrastructure.
  • Install, configure, and support network equipment including routers, switches, firewalls, wireless controllers, proxy servers, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and WAN optimization devices.
  • Configure and manage routing and switching technologies to maximize network performance and security.
  • Monitor network performance and proactively identify opportunities for optimization and improvement.
  • Troubleshoot complex network connectivity, performance, and security issues.
  • Perform firmware and software upgrades on network devices while minimizing business impact.
  • Plan and execute scheduled maintenance windows and infrastructure upgrades.
  • Investigate network outages and implement corrective actions.
  • Work closely with Stakeholders and IT leadership on infrastructure initiatives.
  • Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors during network deployments and installations.
  • Maintain accurate network documentation, diagrams, inventories, and standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational security policies and industry best practices.
  • Prepare technical reports, project updates, and network status reports for stakeholders.
  • Participate in on-call support and after-hours maintenance as required.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent work experience).

Experience: 5+ years of experience supporting enterprise network infrastructure.

Required Experience:

  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, and enterprise routing and switching.
  • Experience configuring and supporting Extreme network infrastructure.
  • Experience with firewalls, VPN technologies, DNS, DHCP, NAT, and network security principles.
  • Experience troubleshooting complex network issues using industry-standard tools.
  • Strong Linux knowledge.
  • Knowledge of network monitoring and performance management platforms.
  • Strong understanding of network documentation and change management processes.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco ASA, or Check Point firewalls.
  • Experience with wireless technologies and controllers.
  • Experience with cloud networking (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud).
  • Knowledge of SD-WAN technologies.
  • Experience with network automation using Python, Ansible, or PowerShell.

Work Environment & Physical Demands: Office & Computer Laboratories - Sitting, standing, extended periods of time using a mouse and keyboard and viewing computer screens. Infrequent lifting of <40lbs. Movement between points within the same office or between buildings. Work is performed in generally consistent environmental conditions with some seasonality for temperature differences and lighting.
