About the Role:
The CDL Class A Driver plays a critical role in the construction industry by safely and efficiently transporting heavy equipment, materials, and supplies to various job sites across the United States. This position requires a professional driver who can manage long-haul and local routes while adhering to all federal and state transportation regulations. The driver will be responsible for ensuring timely deliveries that support construction project timelines and operational efficiency. Additionally, the role involves maintaining the vehicle in excellent condition through routine inspections and reporting any mechanical issues promptly. Ultimately, the CDL Class A Driver contributes to the overall success of construction projects by providing reliable logistics and transportation services.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid CDL Class A driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience operating Class A commercial vehicles, preferably in the construction or heavy equipment transportation sector.
- Knowledge of and compliance with DOT regulations and hours-of-service rules.
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening and background checks.
- Physical ability to perform vehicle inspections, secure loads, and handle materials as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with flatbed trailers and heavy haul transportation.
- Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and electronic logging devices (ELDs).
- Previous experience working in the construction industry or transporting construction-related materials.
- Strong mechanical aptitude for basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Excellent communication and time management skills.
Responsibilities:
- Operate Class A commercial vehicles to transport construction materials and equipment to designated locations safely and on schedule.
- Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Secure cargo properly to prevent damage or shifting during transit, following all safety protocols and company policies.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, vehicle maintenance, and delivery records in compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, site managers, and other team members to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve any transportation issues.

The CDL Class A Driver utilizes their driving expertise and knowledge of transportation regulations daily to ensure safe and efficient delivery of construction materials. Skills in vehicle inspection and maintenance help prevent breakdowns and ensure compliance with safety standards.
