Job Description

SUMMARY:

The Senior Ecommerce Content Manager reports to the Director, Internet Reseller Channel, and owns the product content function supporting all ecommerce and marketplace customers. In addition to executing custom data and content requirements for internet retailers, the Senior Ecommerce Content Manager is responsible for building out, staffing, and leading the content team, and for establishing the standards and processes that the team operates under. The role works closely with the marketing, merchandising, and marketplace account teams to drive revenue through expanded product assortment and higher-quality content across customer websites and marketplace platforms.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Build out the ecommerce content team: define team structure and staffing plan, participate in recruiting and selection, onboard and train new team members, and manage ongoing performance and development.
  • Establish and maintain content standards, style guides, quality-control processes, and documented SOPs so that content output is consistent and repeatable as the team scales.
  • Own the content roadmap across all marketplace and internet retailers, prioritizing work against revenue opportunity in partnership with the account and marketplace management teams.
  • Work with IR BDMs and marketplace account owners to execute custom product data requirements for internet retailers.
  • Regulate product assortment criteria by account.
  • Oversee content spreadsheets for customers by compiling data from price files, content files, and other sources so that internet resellers can successfully load products onto their websites for resale using the highest quality content available.
  • Manage content portals for large IR accounts, including initial setup and item updates.
  • Maintain cross-reference for unique identifiers across accounts and platforms.
  • Provide feedback to the sales team on areas of expansion and improvement.
  • Provide sales and content-performance reporting to leadership.
  • Execute merchandising projects to improve the quality of content available on customer websites, for the purpose of driving additional sales and increasing exposure for proprietary brands.

  • QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Load new product information through customer portals, such as Amazon Vendor Central, to add new SKUs for resale.
  • Direct catalog maintenance activities for existing customers to add new items faster.
  • Respond to custom data requirements of internet retailers and interact with buyers for the purposes of executing SKU addition projects.
  • Establish workload prioritization and capacity planning across a growing team.
  • EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

    Four-year college degree from an accredited institution. Merchandising, sales, and/or customer service experience in a business-to-business customer segment. Demonstrated experience managing ecommerce product content at scale. Experience building, hiring for, or leading a team is required for this position.

    Language Ability:

    Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in written form.

    Math Ability:

    Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, and percentages. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

    Reasoning Ability:

    Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

    Computer Skills:

    PC proficiency, including Excel, Word, database software, and e-mail. Knowledge of Access, SQL, and/or FileMaker Pro is helpful. Advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, and CONCATENATE, are required.

    Supervisory Responsibilities:

    This position has supervisory responsibilities. The Senior Ecommerce Content Manager will build and manage the ecommerce content team, including hiring, training, assigning and directing work, and performance management.
