Job Description

Staff Technical Program Manager

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Staff Technical Program Manager based in the United States.

This is a high-impact technical program leadership role within a global, remote-first environment focused on complex security and developer-platform initiatives.
You’ll lead strategic programs that span engineering, product, design, business, and go-to-market teams, turning ambitious goals into clear execution plans.
The role sits within a security-focused organization, with programs spanning application security, software supply chain security, AI-powered capabilities, developer platforms, and major product launches.
You’ll bring structure to ambiguity, manage dependencies and risks, and help senior leaders make informed decisions across complex initiatives.
Success requires strong technical credibility, operational rigor, and the ability to influence teams and stakeholders without direct authority.
Beyond individual programs, you’ll help strengthen technical program management practices through scalable processes, tools, and frameworks.
This is an opportunity to shape products used by a global developer community while driving meaningful improvements in security and software development.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead complex, cross-functional technical programs from strategy and planning through execution, launch, iteration, and completion, ensuring high-quality outcomes and alignment with organizational priorities.
  • Partner closely with engineering leaders, product managers, architects, and business stakeholders to establish comprehensive program plans, milestones, dependencies, and success criteria.
  • Drive execution across multiple teams and organizational boundaries, creating clarity around priorities, ownership, timelines, and expected outcomes.
  • Manage program risks, issues, dependencies, and blockers, identifying emerging challenges early and developing practical mitigation strategies.
  • Provide clear, consistent communication on program health, progress, tradeoffs, risks, and decisions to stakeholders and senior leadership.
  • Make thoughtful tradeoff recommendations that balance technical complexity, customer impact, business priorities, resources, and delivery timelines.
  • Lead programs across security and developer technology domains, potentially including application security, software supply chain security, AI-powered developer experiences, developer platforms, and large-scale product launches.
  • Build strong working relationships across engineering, product, design, go-to-market, and business functions, influencing outcomes without relying on direct authority.
  • Translate complex technical architecture, product requirements, and business objectives into actionable execution frameworks that enable teams to deliver.
  • Identify opportunities to improve program management processes, operational practices, tools, and frameworks, helping scale effective TPM practices across the organization.
  • Develop reusable approaches and mechanisms that improve planning, execution, visibility, and operational excellence across technical programs.
  • Navigate ambiguity and organizational complexity with a results-oriented approach, maintaining momentum while adapting plans as priorities evolve.
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous learning by sharing knowledge, developing best practices, and helping others strengthen their program management capabilities.
Requirements:
  • 8+ years of experience in engineering, technical or product program management, data analysis, product development, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Alternatively, a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Mathematics, Business, or a related field with 6+ years of relevant experience; a master’s degree with 4+ years of relevant experience may also qualify.
  • At least 5 years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects involving multiple stakeholders and dependencies.
  • 7+ years of experience working directly with engineering, product, and business teams to launch new products or capabilities, with a demonstrated record of shipping, learning, and iterating.
  • Strong technical fluency and the ability to quickly understand software development projects, technical architectures, system designs, and emerging technologies.
  • Demonstrated experience creating clarity in complex or ambiguous environments and driving programs from broad objectives to measurable execution.
  • Experience leading large-scale technical programs, ideally involving application security, AI-powered developer experiences, software supply chain technologies, developer platforms, or related technical domains.
  • Strong understanding of Agile and traditional project management methodologies, with the ability to combine approaches and develop practical hybrid frameworks based on program needs.
  • Proven ability to identify project status, surface complex blockers, manage risks, and respond with urgency when unexpected issues arise.
  • Exceptional cross-functional collaboration and influencing skills, with demonstrated success delivering results across organizational boundaries without direct authority.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize technical and business information and communicate effectively with both technical and executive audiences.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and decision-making skills, with the ability to balance competing priorities and recommend effective tradeoffs.
  • Intellectual curiosity and a strong passion for learning, continuous improvement, and helping others develop.
  • Comfortable working in a fully remote, globally distributed environment and willing to travel when required to support program objectives.
  • Ability to operate independently, take ownership of outcomes, and maintain momentum in a fast-moving environment.
Benefits:
  • Base salary: $140,400–$372,300 USD annually, with actual compensation determined by factors including location, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Eligibility for additional rewards, including annual bonuses and stock, depending on role and individual impact.
  • Certain roles may also offer sales incentives based on applicable revenue or utilization plans.
  • Remote-first work environment with flexibility designed to support employees working across the United States.
  • Generous learning and professional development opportunities to support ongoing career growth.
  • Opportunities to work on globally impactful security, AI, developer-platform, and software development initiatives.
  • Inclusive and collaborative culture focused on customer impact, continuous learning, ownership, and delivering meaningful outcomes.
  • Supportive environment that encourages employees to do their best work and contribute to a diverse, inclusive workplace.
  • Travel opportunities as needed to support strategic program objectives and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Comprehensive employee benefits and additional rewards based on role and eligibility.
