Restaurant Manager- The Original Pancake House

OPH Restaurant Group is seeking an experienced, energetic, and customer-focused Restaurant Manager to join our team. We operate six Original Pancake House locations in the Chicagoland area:

  • Lincoln Park- 616 W Diversey Pkwy
  • Gold Coast- 22 E Bellevue Place
  • West Loop- 1124 W. Washington Blvd
  • Hyde Park- 1358 E. 47th Street
  • Oak Forest- 5140 W. 159th Street
  • Orland Park- 16153 S. La Grange Road
  • We are looking for a leader who thrives in a fast-paced restaurant environment, enjoys working alongside their team, and understands that exceptional hospitality starts with management. The ideal candidate is friendly, dependable, organized, and leads by example with a hands-on approach to restaurant operations.

    This is a full-time management position averaging 45–50 hours per week. Weekend and holiday availability is required. Our restaurants are only open from 7am-3pm (4pm on Sat/Sun), providing restaurant managers with a unique opportunity to build a career in hospitality without late-night shifts.

    Qualifications & Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum 3 years of restaurant experience
  • Previous leadership experience preferred, but not required
  • Hands-on management style and willingness to work alongside the team
  • Enjoys a high-volume, fast-paced environment
  • Strong sense of urgency and attention to detail
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills!!
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and train employees
  • Availability to work 45–50 hours per week, including weekends and holidays
  • Language skills: ability to read, analyze, and interpret food and labor figures, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions. Ability to fill out routine reports. Ability to speak effectively and answer questions or handle complaints from customers. Mathematical skills: ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure. Ability to compute rates of pay, food and labor percentages, and to balance the daily sales/cash figures. Basic computer and POS knowledge and skills. Physical demands: the employee is regularly required to: Exert fast-paced mobility, stand, walk, stoop or bend Use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.(Examples: cooking, working the cash register, carrying plates, writing.)Reach with hands and arms Twist or turn The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds (putting away deliveries, stocking coolers).**Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential job functions
    Restaurant Manager Responsibilities

    As a Restaurant Manager, you will be involved in all aspects of daily restaurant operations, including both front-of-house and back-of-house responsibilities.

    Responsibilities include:

  • Successfully completing our comprehensive Manager Training Program, including food preparation, cooking skills, kitchen operations, and front-of-house procedures
  • Completing the required Food Sanitation Certification Program
  • Providing excellent hospitality and ensuring a positive guest experience
  • Maintaining appropriate restaurant staffing levels. Creating and managing employee schedules
  • Recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and training team members
  • Coaching and motivating employees to maintain high performance standards
  • Managing restaurant food and labor costs
  • Daily food preparation
  • Monthly inventory
  • Ensuring compliance with all safety, security, and sanitation procedures
  • Overseeing cash handling procedures
  • Completing daily management paperwork and administrative responsibilities
  • Leading by example. Stepping into any position when needed to support the team
