Position Title: Account Executive

Department: Sales

FLSA Status: Full-Time / Exempt

Work Location: Hybrid / Austin, TX

Job Summary

The Account Executive is responsible for driving revenue growth by acquiring new customers and expanding business within assigned accounts. This role focuses on managing the full sales cycle, from prospecting and discovery through proposal, negotiation, and close.

The Account Executive partners with prospects and customers to understand their needs and deliver tailored infrastructure solutions that align with business objectives.

Role Scope & Accountability

This Individual Contributor role owns execution of sales activities across assigned opportunities and accounts. The Account Executive is responsible for managing pipeline, developing customer relationships, and closing new business within established sales goals.

The role operates with autonomy in managing sales strategy at the deal level while aligning with broader sales processes and targets.

Success is measured by revenue attainment, pipeline generation, conversion rates, and overall sales performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage a pipeline of new business opportunities through inbound and outbound efforts
  • Establish, develop, and maintain relationships with prospective and existing customers
  • Conduct discovery conversations to understand customer needs, challenges, and business objectives
  • Present and position Hivelocity solutions (Bare Metal, Enterprise Cloud, Colocation) to align with customer requirements
  • Own the full sales cycle, including prospecting, proposal development, negotiation, and contract execution
  • Develop clear and effective proposals and sales presentations
  • Collaborate with Sales Engineers and internal teams to design and deliver solutions
  • Respond to customer inquiries and coordinate resolution of issues as needed
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activity, pipeline, and forecasting in CRM systems (e.g., HubSpot)
  • Meet or exceed revenue, pipeline, and activity targets
  • Provide regular updates on customer needs, market trends, and competitive insights to leadership
  • Communicate progress, risks, and opportunities effectively to sales leadership
  • Control Responsibilities

  • Responsible for complying with company information security policies and procedures
  • Responsible for completing required company-wide Information Security Training within designated timeframes
  • Responsible for protecting sensitive company and prospect/customer data from unauthorized access, disclosure, or misuse
  • Responsible for ensuring customer and prospect information is handled securely within CRM systems (e.g., HubSpot) and other internal tools
  • Responsible for maintaining accuracy and integrity of pipeline data, sales activity, and forecasting information
  • Qualifications & Experience

  • 3–5+ years of experience in sales, account management, or business development (technology, SaaS, or infrastructure preferred)
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple opportunities and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Experience with CRM systems such as HubSpot or Salesforce
  • Ability to understand customer needs and align solutions effectively
  • Experience in data center, cloud, or infrastructure environments preferred
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
