The Account Executive plays a key role in driving business growth by developing new customer relationships, expanding existing accounts, and building a profitable book of business. This position is responsible for prospecting, managing customer relationships, identifying shipping opportunities, quoting freight, and working closely with our operations team to ensure successful shipment execution.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute strategic account development plans to grow revenue within assigned accounts.
  • Conduct cold calling and outreach to identify and qualify new business opportunities.
  • Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting to closing, using a consultative approach to understand and address customer needs.
  • Develop new customer relationships and expand existing accounts.
  • Build and manage a profitable personal book of business.
  • Identify and pursue new shipping opportunities across various industries.
  • Provide accurate and competitive freight quotes to customers.
  • Negotiate freight pricing while maintaining company margin and profitability guidelines.
  • Work closely with operations and dispatch teams to secure capacity and ensure successful load execution.
  • Communicate customer requirements and expectations clearly to the operations team.
  • Monitor shipments and assist with resolving service issues when necessary.
  • Maintain consistent communication and follow-up with prospects and customers.
  • Track sales activity, opportunities, customer interactions, and pipeline development in company systems.
  • Identify opportunities to increase revenue and grow existing customer accounts.
  • Work collaboratively with operations and leadership to provide excellent customer service.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 1+ year of experience specifically in domestic freight brokerage or transportation sales.
  • Experience working with shippers, manufacturers, distributors, or logistics customers.
  • Familiarity with freight pricing, lanes, capacity, and transportation markets.
  • Demonstrated ability to prospect, generate new business, and develop lasting customer relationships.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills with both team members and customers.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and transportation management software.
  • Experience building and managing a personal book of business.
  • Experience using CRM or sales-tracking software.
  • Previous success with cold calling, lead generation, and new customer acquisition.

Work Location Requirements:

  • This position requires full-time, Monday-Friday on-site presence at our Wilmington, NC (28403) facility.
