Job Description

Deputy Chief of Staff Research & Growth

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Deputy Chief of Staff – Research & Growth based in the United States.

As a Deputy Chief of Staff – Research & Growth, you’ll serve as a strategic partner to a founder across multiple concurrent client engagements. You’ll bring structure, prioritization, and rigorous research to a fast-moving, multi-account environment. The role combines market intelligence, competitive research, business development, sales support, project management, and executive-level synthesis. You’ll turn fragmented information into clear insights, actionable recommendations, and polished materials that directly influence client and business outcomes. With significant autonomy, you’ll manage competing priorities while maintaining a high standard of accuracy, sourcing, and communication. This is a high-ownership opportunity for a strategic thinker who thrives on ambiguity, context-switching, and turning research into measurable growth

Accountabilities:
  • Serve as a strategic partner to the founder across multiple concurrent client engagements, providing structure, prioritization, organization, and consistent follow-through.
  • Lead market and competitive intelligence research, including vendor ecosystem mapping, competitor analysis, market comparisons, and other strategic research initiatives.
  • Conduct thorough multi-source research with transparent sourcing and full citations, ensuring findings are accurate, credible, and executive-ready.
  • Synthesize research into clear patterns, trends, strategic insights, and actionable recommendations that leadership can use to make informed decisions.
  • Drive pipeline-building initiatives by identifying executive and decision-maker contacts through LinkedIn, Sales Navigator, or comparable research tools.
  • Draft personalized, research-backed outreach and cold emails that support business development and relationship-building efforts.
  • Prepare sales and discovery materials by anticipating client questions, researching relevant public intelligence, and identifying strategic positioning opportunities.
  • Build and manage detailed project plans and Gantt charts covering phases, milestones, dependencies, timelines, risks, and KPIs using Monday.com or comparable project-management tools.
  • Produce polished competitive teardowns and comparison materials covering positioning, differentiators, target verticals, UX walkthroughs, and comparison tables for executive and client-facing use.
  • Maintain organization and continuity across unrelated client accounts and industries, adapting research depth, communication style, and priorities while maintaining consistent quality.
  • Operate with a high degree of autonomy, proactively identifying priorities, solving problems, and ensuring deliverables remain on track.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience in a Chief of Staff, strategic research, competitive intelligence, senior business analysis, or senior sales analysis role, ideally supporting a founder, executive, or multi-client portfolio.
  • Strong business English writing skills, with the ability to independently produce structured, citation-backed, executive-ready reports and recommendations.
  • Demonstrated experience sourcing executive and decision-maker contacts through LinkedIn, Sales Navigator, or equivalent tools.
  • Experience drafting personalized outreach and cold emails as part of research, sales, or business development initiatives.
  • Working knowledge of Monday.com or a comparable project-management platform such as Asana or Smartsheet, including Gantt charts and KPI dashboards.
  • Proven ability to conduct multi-source research with rigorous verification, transparent sourcing, and accurate citation practices.
  • Strong analytical judgment and discernment, with the ability to distinguish meaningful insights from low-value information.
  • High tenacity and ownership, with the ability to work independently, manage ambiguity, and deliver results with minimal oversight.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to context-switch effectively across multiple unrelated client accounts and industries.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, particularly when working with senior stakeholders and translating complex research into practical recommendations.
  • Previous exposure to legal tech, Insurtech, investigations, or litigation consulting is a plus.
  • Familiarity with luxury travel, ground transportation, or corporate meetings and events is a plus.
  • Experience directly supporting sales or business development teams, including SDR/BDR-adjacent research, is a plus.
Benefits
  • Compensation of up to $1,800, depending on experience.
  • 13th month pay.
  • Performance-based bonuses of up to 150% of one month’s salary.
  • Comprehensive HMO coverage, including dependents.
  • Full-time opportunity with direct responsibility for strategic research and growth initiatives.
  • High-autonomy environment with significant visibility into client and business outcomes.
  • Opportunity to work across multiple clients, industries, and strategic business challenges.
