ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF ENGINEERING

Starting Pay: $90K + DOE

WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

As Assistant Director of Engineering, you'll play a key role in the day-to-day operation and long-term care of the hotel, including:

• Leading and coordinating daily Engineering operations and team activities
• Overseeing preventive maintenance and repairs throughout the property
• Supporting the operation and maintenance of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, boiler and building systems
• Conducting property walk-throughs to identify safety, maintenance and operational concerns
• Managing vendors, inspections and service contracts
• Helping develop budgets, forecasts and cost-effective maintenance solutions
• Overseeing energy management and preventive maintenance programs
• Supporting hotel safety, security, emergency preparedness and compliance initiatives
• Managing maintenance of the hotel's pool, grounds and exterior areas
• Ensuring work orders and maintenance requests are completed efficiently and timely
• Hiring, training, coaching and supervising Engineering team members
• Partnering with other hotel departments to support guest and employee satisfaction
• Investigating and resolving Engineering-related guest concerns
• Maintaining company standards and following up on inspection deficiencies
• Stepping in during hotel emergencies when your expertise is needed
• Serving as an active leader on the hotel's Safety Committee

THIS ROLE IS FOR AN EXPERIENCED ENGINEERING LEADER

Required:

3-5 years of experience working DIRECTLY in a Director-level Engineering position at a medium-to-large hotel/property.

This is an important requirement. We're looking for someone who has already led at the Director level and understands the complexity, pace and accountability that comes with operating Engineering at a substantial property.

You'll also need:

• 5+ years of Engineering/Maintenance experience
• 3+ years of direct maintenance supervisory experience
• Strong knowledge of electrical, HVAC, boilers, mechanical systems, plumbing and building maintenance
• Experience with hotel/property operations
• Strong employee relations and team leadership skills
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
• Strong organizational and analytical skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment
• Microsoft Office proficiency
• Ability to work all shifts as needed
