Position Summary
The Medical Records Specialist - Radiology is responsible for obtaining, reviewing, organizing, and distributing radiology reports and other medical documentation. This role works closely with medical providers, clients, and internal departments to ensure records are received, processed accurately, and delivered in a timely manner.
No radiology experience required. Training provided. Candidates with administrative, customer service, call center, medical office, or document management experience are encouraged to apply.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Contact medical providers and imaging facilities to obtain radiology reports and required documentation.
- Review incoming reports and records for completeness and accuracy.
- Sort, batch, upload, and attach medical documentation within company systems.
- Track outstanding reports and follow up as needed to ensure timely receipt.
- Transmit reports and records to clients through approved methods, including email and fax.
- Maintain accurate documentation and workflow records.
- Assist with image CD requests, rereads, reschedules, and other administrative support functions.
- Handle confidential information in compliance with HIPAA and company policies.
- Collaborate with teammates and other departments to ensure excellent customer service.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency with basic computer applications and data entry.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in medical records, healthcare administration, document management, customer service, call center operations, or office administration.
- Experience using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.
- Knowledge of workers' compensation processes is a plus.
