Retail Sales Associate in Indianapolis, Indiana at Mars Hill Liquors

The Retail Sales Associate (Cashier Focus) is responsible for delivering excellent customer service while operating the register and supporting overall store operations. This role includes handling transactions, maintaining a clean and organized sales floor, restocking products, and assisting with general store upkeep, including exterior areas such as the parking lot.

This role is not limited to register duties and includes general store support such as stocking, cleaning, and exterior maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate cash register and process transactions accurately (cash, card, etc.)
• Provide friendly and efficient customer service, including product assistance and recommendations
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked sales floor
• Stock shelves, coolers, and displays as needed
• Monitor store conditions and restock high-demand items
• Assist with store cleanliness, including:
• Sweeping and maintaining floors
• Cleaning counters and work areas
• Picking up trash and maintaining the parking lot and exterior areas
• Follow all company procedures related to cash handling, ID verification, and alcohol sales compliance
• Support other store operations as directed based on business needs

Required Qualifications:

Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Indiana Alcohol and Tobacco Commission (ATC) Server Training Permit

If not currently certified, employee must complete ATC-approved server training and obtain permit within a reasonable timeframe after hire

Must comply with all state and company policies regarding alcohol sales and ID verification

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Ability to move between indoor and outdoor areas (including parking lot)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous retail or cashier experience preferred
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Reliable and detail-oriented
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
