Group Account Director - Media + Creative

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Group Account Director – Media + Creative based in the United States.

This senior leadership role sits at the intersection of client partnership, strategy, and commercial growth within a fast-paced, innovation-driven agency environment. The Group Account Director will oversee high-value, complex client relationships, acting as the primary senior point of contact and trusted advisor. They will lead cross-functional teams delivering integrated media and creative solutions that drive measurable business impact. The role requires deep strategic thinking, commercial acumen, and the ability to translate client challenges into scalable growth opportunities. It is both highly relational and operational, balancing long-term client vision with day-to-day delivery excellence. Accountabilities:
  • Lead senior client relationships as the primary point of contact, ensuring strong partnerships, high satisfaction, and long-term account growth through consistent strategic engagement and proactive communication.
  • Oversee cross-functional delivery across media and creative teams, ensuring integrated strategies, high-quality execution, and alignment with client business objectives and performance goals.
  • Own commercial performance including forecasting, revenue tracking, profitability, and scope management, while identifying upsell and cross-sell opportunities to drive organic growth.
  • Develop and negotiate scopes of work, contracts, and statements of work (SOWs), ensuring accuracy, compliance, and alignment with client budgets and internal targets.
  • Lead new business pitches and strategic proposals in collaboration with senior leadership and growth teams, contributing to agency expansion and diversification.
  • Act as escalation lead for client and internal issues, resolving challenges efficiently while maintaining trust and confidence across all stakeholders.
  • Guide team performance and delivery standards, ensuring alignment across disciplines, removing roadblocks, and maintaining operational excellence.
Requirements:
  • 12+ years of experience in agency environments managing large-scale, multi-service client accounts, retainers, and complex integrated campaigns.
  • Proven experience leading senior client relationships at VP and C-level, with strong ability to influence strategy and drive business outcomes.
  • Demonstrated leadership of large teams (10+), including direct and indirect management across multidisciplinary functions.
  • Strong commercial and financial management experience, including forecasting, budgeting, scope control, and revenue growth responsibility.
  • Deep understanding of media and creative ecosystems, with the ability to connect brand strategy, performance marketing, and innovation-driven solutions.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills with the ability to simplify complex ideas for diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to perform under pressure, manage competing priorities, and deliver in fast-paced environments.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple high-volume accounts simultaneously while maintaining quality and consistency.
