Job Description

USCIS Interview Staff Attorney

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a USCIS Interview Staff Attorney based in the United States.

This role is centered on one of the most impactful stages of the immigration process: the USCIS interview. You will work directly with clients preparing for and attending their interviews, ensuring they are equipped to clearly present their personal history and case details in high-stakes legal settings. The position combines client advocacy, legal preparation, and real-time representation, requiring both strong interpersonal skills and courtroom-ready composure. You will collaborate closely with internal legal and operations teams to ensure consistency, accuracy, and continuity across cases. This is a mission-driven role where your work directly contributes to helping individuals and families secure stability and legal status. It involves regular interaction with emotionally complex cases and requires empathy, structure, and precision. You will also travel within assigned regions to support clients across multiple USCIS offices.

Accountabilities:
  • Review client immigration files and prior submissions to identify key facts, risks, and case considerations ahead of USCIS interviews.
  • Conduct thorough pre-interview preparation sessions to help clients structure their narrative and respond confidently to expected questions.
  • Attend USCIS interviews alongside clients to provide legal advocacy, support, and real-time representation.
  • Document detailed notes during interviews and ensure accurate updates are recorded in case management systems.
  • Coordinate with internal legal teams when follow-up actions, supplements, or additional filings are required post-interview.
  • Support coverage across multiple USCIS offices within assigned regions, including regular travel as needed.
  • Ensure adherence to internal processes, documentation standards, and case tracking requirements.
Requirements:
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school and active bar membership in good standing.
  • Prior experience in litigation, mock trial, moot court, depositions, or advocacy-focused legal work strongly preferred.
  • Strong ability to communicate with clients in sensitive situations, helping them navigate complex and emotional narratives.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to follow structured legal processes and detailed instructions.
  • Familiarity with case management systems and legal documentation tools is preferred.
  • Interest or background in immigration law is highly valued.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to accuracy and clarity.
  • Proficiency with standard office tools such as MS Word, MS Excel, and email platforms; bilingual English/Spanish is a plus but not required.
Benefits:
  • Competitive annual salary ranging from $70,000 to $74,750 USD
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage
  • 401(k) retirement plan with employer match
  • Health Savings Account (HSA) and Flexible Spending Account (FSA) options, including dependent care FSA
  • Life insurance, disability coverage, and voluntary supplemental insurance options (accident, hospital indemnity, AD&D)
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for personal and professional support
  • Wellness resources, including Calm app subscription
  • Stable weekday schedule (Monday–Friday, standard business hours)
  • Mission-driven work environment focused on advocacy and family unity
