About the Role:

The Event Lifeguard Services Coordinator owns the staffing, scheduling, readiness, and execution of lifeguard services for all private events and special programs. This role manages event lifeguards directly within the event opportunity system, ensuring client expectations are met, and staff are fully trained, certified, and prepared to work events. This role prioritizes speed, accuracy, and readiness for event execution without creating scheduling bottlenecks. Benefits for employees averaging 30 hrs/week, and who work year-round roles are eligible for medical benefits. Swan Aquatics covers 60% of the premium. **INTERNAL PROMOTION POSITION**

Core Responsibilities:

  • Event Staffing & Scheduling
    • Assist with interviewing Event Lifeguard candidates
    • Assign lifeguards to private events directly within the event opportunity system
    • Confirm staff availability, acceptance, and commitment to assigned events
    • Send finalized schedules and event details to assigned lifeguards
    • Confirm event schedules and staffing details with clients
  • Event Lifeguard Readiness & Compliance
    • Maintain ongoing communication with event lifeguards
    • Confirm guards have the required equipment and uniforms prior to events
    • Verify completion of:
      • Online onboarding and internal training

        • Required certifications

        • Seasonal on-site swim tests

  • Pre-Event Orientation
    • Conduct or distribute event-specific briefings
    • Confirm venue protocols, emergency procedures, and escalation paths
    • Ensure staff understand expectations and reporting requirements
  • Contingency & Backup Coverage
    • Maintain an active pool of backup-qualified event lifeguards
    • Manage last-minute replacements within the opportunity system
    • Escalate staffing risks only when client commitments are threatened
  • Post-Event Review & Feedback
    • Collect client feedback and document outcomes
    • Track staff performance and readiness issues.
    • Share insights with Operations leadership to support rebooking and improvement

Minimum Qualifications :

  • Current Lifeguard Certification from a recognized organization (ARC, STARGuard, ELLIS).
  • Previous experience in a pool management or supervisory role.
  • 18+ years old minimum

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in aquatic facility management.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.

Lifeguard certification skills are used daily to assess and respond to potential hazards in aquatic environments. Training and emergency response skills are critical for conducting drills and preparing the team for real-life situations.
