About the Role
This isn’t your typical assistant teacher position. As a Regional Floating Assistant Teacher, you’ll support 3–6 centers, stepping in wherever you’re needed—daily, weekly, or monthly. Your flexibility keeps classrooms running smoothly while helping build strong connections across our community of educators, children, and families.
You’ll have a designated home center, but your day-to-day work may take you to different locations, where you’ll collaborate with various teams and leaders.
What You’ll Do
Classroom Support
- Assist Lead Teachers with daily routines and learning activities
- Ensure a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment
- Step into classrooms as needed to maintain proper staffing ratios
Child Engagement
- Build positive relationships with children across multiple centers
- Support social, emotional, and developmental growth through play
- Bring energy, warmth, and consistency to every classroom
Family Communication
- Communicate professionally with families about their child’s day
- Create a welcoming, reassuring presence—even as a new face
- Maintain strict confidentiality
Team Collaboration
- Adapt quickly and integrate into different classroom teams
- Communicate effectively with teachers and center leadership
- Support a consistent, team-oriented culture across locations
Compliance & Documentation
- Follow OCFS regulations and company policies
- Assist with records and documentation
- Maintain proper supervision standards at all times

Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 18 years old
- Meets New York State requirements for Assistant Teachers
- Valid driver’s license, insurance, and reliable transportation
Preferred
- 1+ year experience working with children
- Childcare or early education background
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
