Job Description
The Housing Specialist is responsible for assisting individuals and families in securing and maintaining stable housing. This role involves working closely with individuals to provide ongoing support to ensure housing stability. The Housing Specialist will collaborate with landlords, housing authorities, and community organizations to facilitate housing supportive services.
DUTIES
Assist consumers in the behavioral health system to obtain and maintain housing.
Contact LFC clients living in LFC housing on a monthly basis.
Work with landlords in the community to build rapport to maintain positive relationships.
Advocate on behalf of tenants to ensure housing stability.
Coordinate unit inspections with property management when warranted.
Maintain a current roster of program participants. Tenant notes and individual data sheets maintained.
Meet with tenants during significant changes in the household that may affect their portion in rent, or continued eligibility for housing.
Maintain a current list of community resources.
Provide referrals to behavioral health services as needed or requested.
Document all interactions and services provided in progress notes in the electronic health record.
Attend monthly Supportive Services Team meetings.
Follow up with personnel requirements as directed and complete required trainings.
Working knowledge of Landlord Tenant Act
Perform related duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree or master's degree in a field related to behavioral health, or other health related field,
Bachelor’s degree in any field
Associate’s degree and two years of behavioral health work experience,
High school diploma or high school equivalency diploma and four years of full-time behavioral health work experience
Valid Arizona Driver's License
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Demonstrated competency in allocation of resources.
Demonstrated competency in the philosophy of affordable housing.
Demonstrated competency in the Landlord Tenant Act.
Demonstrated competency in working with special populations.
Other Potential Requirements
Reliable transportation, valid AZ driver’s license, automobile insurance, and good driving record.
Proof of physical exam and TB test
