The FSW/Driver position in the retail trade industry is a critical role responsible for ensuring the timely and safe delivery of goods to various retail locations across the United States. Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) appropriate for the vehicle class operated.
- Clean driving record with no recent violations or accidents.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy merchandise safely, typically up to 50 pounds.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills to complete delivery documentation accurately.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in retail delivery or logistics roles.
- Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and route planning software.
- Customer service experience in a retail or delivery environment.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and inventory management.
- Certification in defensive driving or transportation safety training.
Responsibilities:
- Operate commercial vehicles safely and efficiently to deliver retail products to designated locations within scheduled timeframes.
- Load and unload merchandise, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage and maintain product quality.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure operational safety and compliance with transportation regulations.
- Communicate effectively with warehouse personnel, retail staff, and management to coordinate deliveries and address any logistical challenges.
- Maintain accurate delivery records, including logs, receipts, and reports, to support inventory tracking and billing processes.
- Provide excellent customer service by representing the company professionally during deliveries and addressing customer inquiries or concerns.
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local driving laws and company policies to ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
