General Summary

Plan, Direct, and Coordinate the day-to-day operations of Preferred Supply - Low Country Operations Center. Manage staff to include those working in the Warehouse and Inside Sales Department. Ensure that materials are at appropriate levels such as to meet the expectations and needs of our clients. Communicate with Group Manager & Stock Procurement Specialist concerning any discrepancies or needed additions to inventory for consideration. Develop and nurture key customer accounts while continuously improving our level of support & knowledge. Monitor and improve the performance, productivity, efficiency and profitability of the Low Country Operation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Coordinate, manage and monitor the operations of the various departments in the organization to include warehousing and inside sales support.
2. Oversee distribution of goods, and facility layout.
3. Ensure that regular cycle counts are performed to maintain accurate inventory and high off shelf availability.
4. Purchase and manage the outsourced repair of all safety and survey equipment.
5. Build and promote strong, long-lasting customer relationships by partnering with them and understanding their needs.
6. Ensure that all operations are accomplished in a correct, cost effective, and timely manner in alignment with company objectives and organizational well-being.
7. HR – Delegate tasks and accountabilities. Establish work schedules. Supervise staff. Monitor/ evaluate performance, along with staffing requirements and hire new employees as needed with guidance from Group Manager.
8. Conduct annual employee and wage reviews with assistance from Group Manager.
9. Assist in development and management of the operations budget.
10. Review invoices and statements to correct discrepancies before forwarding to AR/AP.
11. Coordinate with upper management in development of strategic plans for operational activity.
12. Implement and manage operational plans.
13. Work in a safe manner, recognize and correct hazards within the warehouse/yard, and comply with all safety requirements.

Marginal Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain and Improve the existing procedures of all outgoing and incoming product/materials.

• Research new technologies and alternative methods to increase efficiencies.

• Oversee inventory, in/out product from yard and maintain in a clean and organized fashion.

• Assist with the implementation of a warehouse management software when applicable.

• Knowledge of the legal requirements of operating a warehouse

• Strong technical skills, particularly database management and spreadsheets

• Industry relevant experience

• Knowledge and experience in organizational effectiveness and operations management

• Ability to work under and meet deadlines

Education and/or Experience

1. High School Diploma / GED - Required
2. Associates in business/business management or 5-10 years of relevant industry experience

1. Light equipment training / experience – Required
2. Computer Skills (typing, email, internet, MS Office / Excel) – Required
3. Valid driver’s license
