Job Description
We are seeking a Medical Director to serve as our senior physician leader. Champion clinical excellence, shape innovative care models, and mentor a dedicated multidisciplinary team—all while maintaining an active primary care practice. You'll partner directly with executive leadership to drive quality, foster provider wellness, and expand access to high-quality care for our community.
Salary: $230,000-$260,000
Schedule: M-F, 32-40 hours
Patient Load: 60% patient, 40% admin/leadership
Robust Benefits Package
What You’ll Do
Lead & Mentor: Oversee and evaluate physicians and APPs, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and professional growth.
Drive Quality: Partner with compliance and quality teams on HRSA/FTCA standards, peer reviews, and population health initiatives (including UDS and value-based care).
Innovate & Collaborate: Integrate medical services with behavioral health, dental, and school-based programs to deliver holistic care.
Shape Strategy: Advise executive leadership on provider staffing, panel optimization, new care models, and long-term organizational goals.
Practice Medicine: Maintain a balanced clinical schedule providing direct patient care in a community health setting.
What We’re Looking For
Education: MD or DO from an accredited institution.
Licensure: Current (or eligible for) unrestricted Virginia Medical License & DEA registration.
Certification: Board Certified in a Primary Care specialty (Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, or similar).
Experience: 5+ years of active clinical practice required.
Leadership experience in an FQHC, Community Health Center, or safety-net setting strongly preferred.
Demonstrated background in team-based care, quality improvement, and HRSA/FTCA compliance.
Why Join Us?
Balanced Role: Enjoy a structured blend of protected administrative time and rewarding clinical practice.
Mission-Driven Culture: Lead a dynamic team truly committed to patient-centered, equitable healthcare.
Strategic Voice: Have a seat at the table with executive leadership and board members to directly influence the future of community medicine.
This role is part of a broader effort to strengthen access to high-quality primary care across Virginia. Our approach is simple: support providers, build strong care teams, and ensure communities have access to the care they deserve.
