POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Solderer 2 performs a variety of standard hand soldering tasks across products while applying IPC standards consistently. This role contributes to team productivity and product quality through independent execution of moderately complex soldering work.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but not limited to:

  • Perform standard hand soldering tasks across products to meet production and quality requirements.
  • Apply IPC standards and component handling practices to ensure consistent workmanship.
  • Handle moderately complex assemblies independently to support production flow.
  • Resolve routine soldering issues to minimize rework and delays.
  • Communicate soldering or quality issues clearly within the team.
  • Interact regularly with supervisors and Quality Engineers to support quality outcomes.
  • Minimize waste and rework through proper techniques and material use
  • Contribute to team productivity and product quality through reliable execution.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned


QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Required Experience Education: High school diploma or equivalent experience; Relevant technical certifications (e.g., IPC, J-STD, or equivalent) may be required depending on site, customer, or business requirements.
Experience: 1 to 2+ years of hand soldering electronics assembly experience. Skills Required

  • Proficiency in through-hole and basic SMT soldering.
  • Good understanding of IPC standards and workmanship requirements.
  • Ability to solder basic solder cups, sleeves, and simple SMT components.


Physical Demands

  • Controlled manufacturing environment
  • Work is performed in sitting, standing, reaching and stooped positions. Standing for long periods of time in a manufacturing line doing repetitive tasks.
  • Repetitive hand motions
  • Job duties require working with and around chemicals and the use of applicable PPE will be required
  • Good hand-eye coordination and mechanical aptitude
  • Strong situational awareness of surroundings to ensure personal safety and prevent potential hazards in a manufacturing environment.
  • Color identification is a requirement of the role
  • Ability to safety lift up to 40 lbs

Other Details

  • Base pay range: $22 - $26 depending on skills and experience, plus 10% shift premium when you work the shift

  • This is regular/indefinite position

  • Work shift: Afternoon (Monday to Friday 3:30PM-12MN), during first few months for training, work schedule will be Day (7AM-3:30PM) or Afternoon (2PM-10:30PM)

  • Need to be legally eligible to work in British Columbia, Canada, full-time for any employer

  • Background check applicable as pre-employment
