Job Description
Position Title: Project Engineer
Position Summary:
The Project Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supporting engineering and manufacturing projects from initial concept through completion. This position works closely with engineering, production, maintenance, quality, purchasing, and management to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and according to company standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor engineering and manufacturing projects.
- Develop project schedules, timelines, budgets, and resource requirements.
- Coordinate with production, maintenance, quality, purchasing, and other departments to ensure project requirements are met.
- Assist with the design, installation, modification, and improvement of manufacturing equipment and processes.
- Review engineering drawings, specifications, layouts, and technical documentation.
- Work with vendors and contractors regarding equipment, materials, installation, and project requirements.
- Track project progress and provide regular status updates to management.
- Identify project risks, delays, and potential issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Assist with equipment installations, line expansions, process improvements, and facility projects.
- Support troubleshooting and problem-solving related to equipment and manufacturing processes.
- Ensure projects comply with safety, quality, environmental, and company requirements.
- Assist with obtaining quotes, evaluating vendor proposals, and coordinating purchasing activities.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including drawings, schedules, specifications, and completion records.
- Participate in testing, commissioning, and startup of new or modified equipment.
- Assist with developing and implementing process improvements to increase productivity, quality, and efficiency.
- Coordinate with contractors and ensure work is performed according to approved plans and safety requirements.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- 2+ years of engineering or project management experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment, and production systems.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documents.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.
- Experience with CAD, project management software, or ERP systems is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.

Requirements:Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and regularly walk throughout the facility.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and occasionally lift or move materials or equipment as required.
- Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Must be willing to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends or extended hours, when required for project installations or equipment startups.
