Job Description

This role sits at the intersection of reconciliation, variance analysis, and problem-solving, and will be ideal for someone who is energized by variety and desires the opportunity to take real ownership over how problems are diagnosed, presented, and solved.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND RESULTS

  • Identify significant financial variances and new activities across the organization, using both accounting knowledge and business context to determine what requires action.
  • Own complex accounting investigations from end to end and provide insight, support, and suggested next steps.
  • Prepare detailed and well-organized supporting schedules that are suitable for review by accounting leadership and external auditors.
  • Refine existing accounting processes to improve month-end closing, yearly audits, and M&A integrations.
  • Establish accounting processes for newly integrated businesses and systems.
  • Document repeatable procedures for reconciliations, close entries, recurring analyses, and newly established accounting processes
  • Prepare complex intercompany reconciliations and compile supporting detail for eliminations and consolidation.
  • Communicate proactively and exercise independent judgement, keeping management informed of meaningful findings and determining appropriate next steps whenever possible.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, required.

Work Experience:

  • 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience; manufacturing accounting experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and experience performing Excel analysis on large datasets.

Skills & Competencies

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to organize complex findings into concise and actionable conclusions

• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong understanding of financial accounting principles, internal controls, and financial reporting
