Job Description
PHLEBOTOMY ALLIED HEALTH TRAINEE
POSITION PURPOSE AND SUMMARY
Accountable to Laboratory Management and/or the Phlebotomy Program Director. Functions as a member of the laboratory team within the Phlebotomy Training Program, within the Central Processing Department or within the Anatomic Pathology Department. Assists the laboratory with patient collection and processing of laboratory specimens for use in clinical and diagnostic laboratory testing, general clerical activities and other duties, as assigned by the Phlebotomy Program Director/Laboratory Management, to facilitate efficient workflow in the Laboratory Departments.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma, or equivalent, required.
- Good communication skills required for effective interaction with patients, family members, other hospital departments, and staff.
