Job Description

Group Product Manager

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Group Product Manager based in Canada.

This is a high-impact product leadership role overseeing a core portfolio used daily by millions of students and thousands of instructors.
You will define product vision, strategy, and roadmaps while leading and developing a team of Product Managers.
The role combines strategic ownership with hands-on execution, requiring strong judgment, technical fluency, and commercial thinking.
You’ll work closely with Engineering, Design, Data, Go-to-Market, Customer Success, and Marketing to turn customer needs into valuable products.
You’ll also represent the portfolio with senior leadership, building compelling business cases tied to revenue, retention, and strategic growth.
The environment is fast-moving and highly collaborative, with opportunities to explore AI-powered experiences and new approaches to learning technology.
This role is ideal for an experienced product leader who brings clarity to ambiguity, moves decisively, and helps others become better product managers.

Accountabilities
  • Define and champion the long-term product vision, strategy, and roadmap for a broad portfolio, ensuring alignment with business objectives and market opportunities.
  • Drive product-market fit and sustainable competitive advantage through customer research, market analysis, experimentation, and strategic positioning.
  • Represent the product portfolio with executive leadership, cross-functional partners, and external stakeholders.
  • Develop clear business cases connecting product investments to revenue, retention, ROI, and broader strategic value.
  • Lead, coach, and develop Product Managers through regular feedback, meaningful 1:1s, career development, and continuous improvement.
  • Establish clear direction and standards while delegating effectively, building accountability, and empowering PMs to make strong decisions independently.
  • Lead high-quality product delivery from ideation through launch and iteration, ensuring key initiatives are delivered on time.
  • Make timely, well-informed decisions around product value, technical risk, priorities, and trade-offs without unnecessary analysis paralysis.
  • Use SQL, APIs, BI tools, AI tools, and lightweight prototypes to validate hypotheses and accelerate product discovery with minimal engineering dependency.
  • Operate effectively within a seasonal academic environment where critical term-start deadlines require strong planning and execution.
  • Build strong partnerships across Engineering, Design, Data, Go-to-Market, Customer Success, Marketing, and other functions.
  • Lead through influence by proactively aligning stakeholders, resolving disagreements, and maintaining a clear product direction.
  • Conduct customer discovery using prototypes, design partners, and pilot programs to validate concepts with real users.
  • Identify problems and potential blockers early, communicate clearly, and ensure initiatives remain on track through completion.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of product management experience, including at least 1 year in a product management leadership or people-management role.
  • Demonstrated experience coaching and developing Product Managers, including early-career professionals.
  • Strong technical fluency with SQL, APIs, BI tools, and AI tools, with the ability to prototype independently or with limited engineering support.
  • Proven track record of shipping complex, cross-functional products on time and to a high quality standard.
  • Strong ownership and reliability, with a consistent ability to follow through, close gaps, and finish what you start.
  • Experience developing business cases that incorporate financial projections, ROI analysis, and strategic value.
  • Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools through professional or personal projects.
  • Strong customer discovery and product experimentation skills, including experience validating concepts through prototypes, pilots, or design partnerships.
  • Excellent stakeholder-management and communication skills, with the ability to influence without direct authority and confidently engage senior leaders.
  • Strong strategic thinking and the ability to translate ambiguity into clear priorities, decisions, and actionable plans.
  • A growth-oriented leadership style, with genuine enthusiasm for coaching, mentoring, and unlocking the potential of others.
  • Ability to challenge ideas respectfully, remain open to changing your position, and make decisions with sound judgment.
  • Experience in EdTech, SaaS, or B2B2C environments is a plus.
  • Experience leading integrations or complex multi-product initiatives, with an understanding of data interoperability, is advantageous.
  • Background in accounts, billing, provisioning, platform, or infrastructure products is a plus.
  • Experience managing products across web and native mobile surfaces is advantageous.
Benefits
  • High-impact opportunity to influence products used by millions of students and thousands of instructors.
  • Broad product ownership with the autonomy to establish strategy, priorities, and direction.
  • Opportunity to lead and grow a team of Product Managers.
  • Flexible, remote-first working environment in Canada.
  • Competitive health benefits starting from day one.
  • Professional learning and development opportunities across career levels.
  • Innovative paid time-off approach designed to support self-care and work-life balance.
  • Opportunity to work with emerging technologies, including generative AI.
  • Mission-driven environment focused on improving teaching and learning.
  • Supportive team culture with strong emphasis on customer impact, collaboration, growth, and performance.
  • Access to a welcoming Toronto headquarters for employees who want an in-person workspace.
  • Opportunity to work alongside passionate customers and cross-functional teams on meaningful product challenges.
