Job Description

Product Manager PriorAuth

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Product Manager — PriorAuth based in United States.

This is an opportunity to own execution and outcomes for an AI-powered prior authorization and healthcare case management platform.
You’ll shape experiences that help healthcare professionals and clinical staff navigate complex authorization workflows with less administrative burden.
The role combines product strategy, hands-on engineering, data analysis, and AI product development in a highly collaborative environment.
You’ll work closely with engineering, design, AI/data science, clinical stakeholders, and go-to-market teams to turn real healthcare needs into scalable products.
A strong focus on agentic AI, automation, integrations, and trustworthy clinical decision support makes this a technically ambitious product role.
You’ll also stay close to usage data, experiments, and customer needs to identify opportunities for growth and continuous improvement.
This is a fully remote position for a product builder who thrives in ambiguity, moves quickly, and cares deeply about user trust and measurable outcomes.

Accountabilities
  • Own execution and measurable outcomes for the prior authorization product, organizing delivery around the key clinical workflows used by healthcare professionals and staff.
  • Develop a deep understanding of prior authorization jobs and translate clinical workflows such as eligibility checks, form completion, medical necessity letters, and case tracking into intuitive AI-enabled experiences.
  • Identify opportunities to automate manual steps, surface relevant answers, accelerate decisions, and create intelligent, agentic product experiences.
  • Write and ship production-quality code alongside engineering, while building prototypes, prompts, experiments, and other solutions to accelerate learning and delivery.
  • Partner with engineering leads, design, and AI/data science teams to define requirements, establish experiments, and deliver production-ready features.
  • Define meaningful product metrics, instrument analytics, query product data, and communicate usage and adoption insights to guide scaling and investment decisions.
  • Help productionize AI capabilities by contributing to confidence thresholds, fallback mechanisms, evaluation criteria, model reliability, and human-in-the-loop workflows.
  • Shape integrations with electronic prior authorization, pharmacy, and electronic medical record systems, including FHIR-based data exchange and emerging healthcare interoperability standards.
  • Collaborate with go-to-market teams to ensure product priorities reflect customer needs, market opportunities, and broader business objectives.
  • Ensure AI-assisted clinical workflows maintain appropriate security, compliance, access controls, auditability, and trust, including alignment with HIPAA requirements.
  • Work cross-functionally with technical, clinical, UX, and business stakeholders, translating complex concepts into clear decisions and actionable requirements.
  • Move quickly through ambiguity by testing ideas, learning from results, and continuously improving the product experience.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 3–5+ years of product management experience, with significant experience in healthcare technology, SaaS, or B2B platforms serving professional users.
  • Demonstrated hands-on coding ability, including the ability to work alongside engineers and use modern AI coding tools; experience with Python, JavaScript, LLMs, and evaluation frameworks is strongly preferred.
  • Strong product-data capabilities, including defining metrics, querying data using SQL or equivalent tools, working with product analytics, and using data to drive prioritization and growth.
  • Experience developing or managing AI/ML products, conversational AI, agentic automation, or clinical decision-support solutions, with knowledge of prompting, evaluation, confidence scoring, error handling, and human-in-the-loop approaches.
  • Practical understanding of prior authorization, pharmacy workflows, clinical case management, practice operations, or related healthcare processes.
  • Familiarity with healthcare compliance and interoperability, including HIPAA, EHR systems, FHIR, HL7 v2, and CDA; knowledge of TEFCA and QHIN ecosystems is a strong plus.
  • Experience with EMR integration strategies such as Epic SMART on FHIR and familiarity with healthcare app marketplace certification requirements is advantageous.
  • Technical fluency across microservices, APIs, cloud infrastructure, and AI model performance and reliability.
  • Proven ability to ship products in agile, cross-functional environments, particularly within regulated industries.
  • Strong user empathy and the ability to transform complex clinical workflows and trust requirements into simple, intuitive experiences.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to clinical, business, and technical audiences.
  • Strong bias for action, curiosity, analytical thinking, and comfort operating independently in an evolving startup environment.
  • A collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively with engineering, UX, AI/data, clinical, and go-to-market teams.
Benefits:
  • Base salary of $110,000–$130,000 USD, plus bonus, with compensation depending on experience and location.
  • 100% remote work within the United States.
  • Occasional in-person team meetups.
  • 401(k) plan with company matching.
  • Medical and other insurance coverage, including HSA-related benefits.
  • Pet insurance and pet-related benefits.
  • Open paid time off.
  • Remote-work stipend.
  • Annual education and professional development budget.
  • A trust-first culture designed to support autonomy and flexibility.
  • Opportunity to work on technology aimed at reducing administrative burden across healthcare and improving experiences for healthcare professionals, patients, and families.
  • Inclusive workplace committed to equal employment opportunities and diversity.
