Pay: $26 per hour, depending on experience

Position Overview:
We’re looking for a skilled and dependable Upholstery Fabricator to join our fabrication team. This is a full-time, permanent position focused on creating custom upholstered pieces for retail displays, events, experiential marketing activations, scenic environments, furniture, and specialty fabrication projects.
The ideal candidate has professional upholstery experience, strong attention to detail, excellent craftsmanship, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with project managers, designers, and other members of the fabrication team.
Qualifications:- Previous professional upholstery experience required
- Experience with custom upholstery, furniture, scenic fabrication, or commercial upholstery preferred
- Strong knowledge of measuring, cutting, sewing, and installing upholstery materials
- Experience operating industrial sewing machines preferred
- Strong understanding of upholstery construction techniques and materials
- Ability to read and follow drawings, patterns, sketches, and technical instructions
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship
- Ability to work independently and manage tasks efficiently
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license required
- Must have and maintain a personal set of basic hand tools
- Comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs and working on ladders or at heights when required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment and meet project deadlines
- Experience in event production, trade shows, retail displays, scenic fabrication, or experiential marketing is a plus
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to work as part of a team
- Fabricate and upholster custom furniture, displays, seating, scenic pieces, and specialty fabrication projects
- Measure, cut, sew, and install upholstery materials including fabric, vinyl, leather, and other specialty materials
- Cut and shape foam, batting, and other upholstery materials according to project specifications
- Read and interpret shop drawings, sketches, patterns, and work orders
- Operate industrial sewing machines and upholstery tools safely and efficiently
- Stretch, secure, and finish upholstery materials to achieve a clean, professional appearance
- Install fabric, vinyl, foam, trim, piping, and other upholstery components
- Perform repairs, modifications, and re-upholstery work as needed
- Work closely with carpenters, fabricators, project managers, and designers to complete projects
- Ensure finished work meets project specifications and Rock Steady’s quality standards
- Maintain consistent quality and attention to detail throughout the fabrication process
- Meet project deadlines while maintaining a high level of craftsmanship
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Assist with installation of completed upholstered pieces at job sites as needed
- $26 per hour, depending on experience

Schedule:
- Monday–Friday
- 8-hour shifts
- Occasional weekends or overtime depending on project needs
- In-person, on-site in Long Beach, CA
