JOB SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Controller the Accounting Clerk supports daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash receipts, reconciliations, and general ledger activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Process vendor invoices by matching to purchase orders, verifying coding, obtaining approvals, and issuing payments via check, ACH, and electronic payment methods.
- Generate and distribute customer invoices, verify billing accuracy, apply customer payments, and maintain accurate accounts receivable records.
- Monitor vendor and customer accounts, reconcile statements, investigate discrepancies, and assist with collections and account inquiries.
- Process daily cash receipts, including check and ACH payments, reconcile cash batches, and assist with bank reconciliations.
- Prepare journal entries, perform account reconciliations, and support month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Maintain organized accounting records and documentation while supporting internal and external audit requests.
- Prepare aging reports, communicate outstanding balances to management, and help ensure timely collection of receivables.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives, special projects, and perform other accounting duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience:
- Associate degree in accounting or related field, with 2 years of experience in accounts payable and account receivable or equivalent education and experience.
- Experience with invoicing, payroll support, payment processing, and account reconciliations.
- Familiarity with Epicor or similar ERP is preferred.
