Job Description:
The Interface Analyst is responsible for leading complex healthcare interoperability and connectivity projects involving EMR/EHR systems, laboratories, healthcare providers, and third-party vendors. This role serves as the primary functional expert and customer liaison, driving successful interface implementations, troubleshooting integration challenges, and ensuring seamless exchange of healthcare data. The ideal candidate possesses strong knowledge of healthcare interoperability, exceptional stakeholder management skills, and the ability to independently manage multiple high-priority projects.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Install and configure proprietary software solutions remotely.
- Plan, coordinate, and schedule project timelines.
- Serve as primary point of contact for all project communication, both oral and written.
- Create, update, and maintain accurate project documentation.
- Support, troubleshoot, and enhance existing HL7 interfaces.
- Utilize project management tools such as Asana and Jira for tracking and reporting.
Qualifications:
- Strong experience with HL7 interface development and support.
- Good understanding of FHIR standards and healthcare interoperability.
- Hands-on experience working with EMR/EHR vendors and laboratories on connectivity projects.
- Knowledge of U.S. healthcare systems, workflows, and regulatory environments.
- Familiarity with HIPAA compliance and secure handling of patient data. Experience working with different EMR vendors and/or Labs on connectivity projects
- Knowledge of basic networking and different connectivity solutions (e.g., VPN, SFTP, TCP-IP, etc.)
- Ownership-driven, reliable, and delivery-focused mindset. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects at the same time.
- Ability to exercise effective decision-making in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of healthcare data & workflow (desired)
Experience
- 5+ years of experience in healthcare interoperability, interface implementation, healthcare IT, or integration project management.
- Proven experience working with EMR/EHR vendors, laboratories, healthcare providers, and healthcare technology organizations.
- Demonstrated success managing complex customer-facing implementation projects.
- Experience supporting healthcare clients in the U.S. healthcare environment preferred.
- Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
Required Knowledge & Skills
- Strong understanding of HL7 v2.x interfaces and healthcare interoperability workflows.
- Good understanding of FHIR standards, APIs, and modern healthcare data exchange methodologies.
- Deep knowledge of EMR/EHR systems, laboratory workflows, and healthcare operations.
- Strong understanding of U.S. healthcare workflows, terminology, and industry practices.
- Familiarity with HIPAA requirements and healthcare data privacy standards.
- Knowledge of connectivity solutions including VPN, SFTP, APIs, TCP/IP, and secure data transmission methods.
- Strong project management and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to influence stakeholders and manage customer expectations effectively.
- Ability to prioritize and successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong ownership mentality with a focus on execution, accountability, and customer success.
- Experience using Jira, Asana, Salesforce, Zendesk, or similar project and ticket management tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with major EMR vendors such as Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, NextGen, Greenway, or comparable platforms.
- Experience with laboratory integrations and healthcare interoperability programs.
- Exposure to healthcare implementation methodologies and change management.
- Prior experience mentoring analysts or leading project teams.
- Certification in Project Management, Healthcare Informatics, or Interoperability-related disciplines is a plus.
