Role Summary:

The Coordinator, Employer Partnerships is responsible for building and expanding partnerships with organizations, employers, and alumni connections to create career opportunities for students. Acting as the primary contact for employers and organizations, the Coordinator develops and maintains partnerships and collaborates with departments across the institution to connect students with internships, employment, mentorship, volunteer, and professional development opportunities.

This role is a relationship-focused business development role that requires a pro-active, results-oriented individual who enjoys building networks, cultivating long-term partnerships, and achieving measurable engagement outcomes. The Coordinator plays a key role in demonstrating the value of a Liberal Arts education at Huron by connecting employers with Huron students.

Responsibilities:

Business Development:

  • Research and identify new employer, industry, alumni, and community partners that align with Huron's goals.
  • Initiate contact, outreach and build relationships with prospective employers and partners through networking, meetings, presentations, and events.
  • Develop and present proposals to potential partners that align employer needs with student talent and institutional priorities.
  • Secure internships, employment opportunities, volunteer, mentorship and professional development opportunities for students.
  • Meet established KPIs and performance metrics related to employer engagement, student participation and program outcomes.

Relationship Management:

  • Manage an active portfolio of employer partners using appropriate partnership management strategies.
  • Serve as the primary contact for employers, providing responsive, high-quality service.
  • Resolve partnership concerns and maintain positive working relationships, escalating matters as appropriate.
  • Represent Huron at employer engagement events and networking initiatives.

Collaboration and Coordination:

  • Collaborate with Career Development to gain understand student interests, career goals, and labour market trends to direct future prospecting.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to coordinate employer recruitment activities, networking events, information sessions, and on campus/virtual engagement opportunities.
  • Provide insight for student employment orientation and readiness training programs.

Performance:

  • Develop and implement annual employer engagement and partnership outreach plans that support Huron's objectives.
  • Monitor industry insights, expectations, hiring processes, and emerging workforce trends.
  • Maintain accurate partnership records and activities using Salesforce and other systems.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of partnerships and identify opportunities for improvement and innovation;
  • Accurate and timely completion of administrative tasks associated with partnership management and metrics.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary degree/diploma/certificate from an accredited institution or equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a business development, sales, account management, employer or partnership development role;
  • Experience developing new business opportunities and managing eternal partner relationships.
  • An understanding of best practices, programs, and models related to career development and internship programs for post-secondary students;
  • Knowledge of job markets and occupations as well as graduate degrees and/or certifications required for success in a career path;
  • Flexibility to work outside of traditional office hours and travel to partner events and networking opportunities as needed;
  • Exceptional and well-honed client / customer service skills to represent Huron professionally in all interactions;
  • Excellent time management skills and a demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks and meet competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment;
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills and ability to interact positively and calmly with students, faculty, and the public in a variety of settings;
  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve effectively and use good judgement in decision-making, and adapt to situations as required;
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
  • Experience working with Salesforce preferred.
