Role:

The Market President serves as the senior leader for an assigned geography, with overall responsibility for market performance, profitability, member experience, and community presence. Operating with an owner’s mindset, this role drives membership growth, loan and deposit production, noninterest income, and business development while fostering a consistent, high-performing service and sales culture across the region.

Reporting to the Chief Member Experience Officer, the Market President leads the Retail Sales and Service Regional Directors and Commercial Lenders for the assigned market. The role also partners closely with the VP of Mortgage in support of external mortgage loan officers aligned to the region and collaborates with senior leaders across the organization to ensure market strategies are executed effectively.

As the voice of the market, the Market President provides insight that informs product, service, and growth strategies while strengthening employer and community relationships that expand Gulf Winds’ visibility and influence. This leader builds local partnerships, develops leadership bench strength, and advances long-term market success by leading with accountability and an “own the business” mindset aligned with Gulf Winds’ core values of Integrity, Care, Growth, and Innovation.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

20% Market Strategy and Performance Leadership: Own overall market performance for an assigned geography, with accountability for growth, profitability, member experience, and community presence across branches, channels, and products. Develop and execute market strategies, operating plans, and budget objectives that align with enterprise priorities and long-term growth goals.

20% Financial and Business Growth: Drive achievement of market goals for membership growth, loan and deposit production, noninterest income, and market penetration through disciplined execution, business development, and performance accountability. Ensure market and branch growth plans translate into measurable financial and production results.

20% Partnerships, Business Development, and Community Presence: Partner with Commercial, mortgage, wealth, small business, and other enterprise leaders to expand member relationships, coordinate growth strategies, and deliver integrated market results. Build and sustain strong employer, community, and business relationships that enhance Gulf Winds’ visibility, deepen local partnerships, and generate new business opportunities.

15% Market Insight and Enterprise Influence: Serve as the voice of the market by monitoring performance, analyzing trends, and identifying competitive insights, risks, and emerging opportunities. Use market knowledge to inform product, service, and growth strategies and provide perspective that supports enterprise decision-making.

10% Member Experience and Operational Execution: Provide leadership oversight for assigned branches, including operational performance, service delivery, and consistent execution of service and sales standards. Champion a high-quality member experience across all market touchpoints by reinforcing service excellence, sales effectiveness, operational discipline, and alignment with organizational values.

10% Leadership, Talent, and Culture: Lead, coach, and develop Regional Directors and other market leaders to build high-performing teams, strengthen leadership capability, and reinforce a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement. Develop bench strength and succession readiness to support long-term market stability and leadership continuity.

Demonstrates disciplined execution of growth strategies that translate into measurable business development and production outcomes.

Leadership, Talent, and Culture: Leads Regional Directors and other market leaders effectively, as reflected in team performance, employee engagement, retention, leadership development, succession readiness, and the strength of the market leadership bench. Reinforces a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

4. Member Experience and Operational Execution: Maintains strong branch and market performance through effective oversight of service delivery, operational execution, and progress against market and branch growth plans. Consistently achieves member experience expectations through high-quality service, responsiveness, and execution of service and sales standards.

5. Partnerships, Business Development, and Community Presence: Builds productive partnerships with Commercial, mortgage, wealth, small business, and other enterprise teams that contribute to coordinated market growth. Expands Gulf Winds’ visibility, local influence, and business results through effective employer relationships, community engagement, and strategic partnership development

6. Market Insight and Enterprise Influence: Uses market data, performance trends, competitive insights, and local knowledge to identify risks and opportunities, strengthen decision-making, and improve business outcomes. Provides meaningful market perspective that informs enterprise strategies related to products, services, and growth.

7. Complies with all applicable rules, regulations, and policies, including but not limited to BSA, OFAC, Physical and Information Security.

Knowledge and Skills:

Experience Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in commercial lending, retail banking, financial services, consumer lending, or a related industry, including multi-site or regional leadership responsibility.

Education Bachelor's degree in business, finance, management, or a related field; advanced degree preferred. Advanced industry certifications or experience can be used in lieu of a degree.

Interpersonal Skills Work frequently involves exercising advanced conflict resolution, giving material presentations, and resolving issues impacting multiple departments or divisions. Role also requires the ability to motivate or influence others as a material part of the role, with a significant level of diplomacy and trust. Obtaining cooperation (internally and/or externally) is an important part of the role and a high level of interpersonal skills is critical to the success of this position.

Other Skills Demonstrated success leading market growth, business development, sales and service performance, and cross-functional execution in a complex organization.

Strong financial acumen, including experience managing budgets, production goals, performance metrics, and market-level business results.

Proven ability to lead through influence, build strong partnerships, and represent the organization effectively in the community.

Physical Requirements

Work Environment The position is based in-office in the assigned geography of the Market, operates in an office setting and in the community. Routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, printers, and phones. This position requires consistent presence in the Market to effectively collaborate with members, potential members, team members and fulfill job responsibilities. It requires the ability to actively participate in conference calls and meetings with other Credit Union team members and vendors. The normal expected work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:30a.m. to 5:00p.m. After-hours work or travel required to meet project deadlines or attend conferences, seminars, or client meetings. Must adhere to safety rules and regulations.
