Position Summary
The Customer Supply Chain Manager serves as the primary operational liaison between a strategic customer and the manufacturing organization. This role is responsible for ensuring uninterrupted material availability, inventory accuracy, artwork compliance, production readiness, and coordination of supply chain activities from receipt of raw materials through manufacturing execution.
Working closely with Procurement, Quality, Operations, Warehouse, Planning, and the customer, this individual owns the day-to-day management of all materials and packaging required to support the customer's products. The position reports directly to the General Manager and plays a critical role in maintaining customer satisfaction, production continuity, and inventory integrity.
Essential Responsibilities
Customer Relationship Management
- Serves as the primary day-to-day operational contact for the assigned customer.
- Builds and maintains strong working relationships through regular communication and proactive issue resolution.
- Coordinates customer requests across internal departments.
- Communicates material risks, inventory concerns, production constraints, and schedule impacts.
- Leads regular operational meetings with the customer as required.
Procurement & Material Planning
- Procures all raw materials and packaging components required to support customer demand.
- Monitors inventory levels and initiates replenishment activities to maintain targeted inventory levels.
- Coordinates with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery of materials.
- Tracks purchase orders and resolves supplier shortages or delivery issues.
- Supports forecasting and long-range material planning.
Inventory Management
- Maintains accurate inventory records for all customer-owned and company-owned materials.
- Develops and executes cycle count programs.
- Investigates inventory discrepancies and implements corrective actions.
- Monitors inventory aging, excess inventory, and obsolete materials.
- Ensures inventory accuracy within ERP and warehouse systems.
Manufacturing Coordination
- Provides manufacturing schedule guidance based on material availability.
- Partners with Production Planning to ensure manufacturing schedules align with customer priorities.
- Identifies potential material shortages before they impact production.
- Coordinates urgent material movements to support changing production needs.
- Supports capacity planning discussions.
Artwork & Printed Material Management
- Reviews incoming customer artwork for completeness and manufacturing readiness.
- Coordinates artwork approvals with internal stakeholders.
- Reviews and approves printed materials prior to production use.
- Issues printed materials to production in accordance with company procedures.
- Ensures revision control is maintained for all printed components.
Trial & Production Support
- Coordinates and kits all materials required for product development and production trials.
- Verifies trial materials are complete and available prior to scheduled activities.
- Coordinates material staging with warehouse personnel.
- Supports first production runs as required.
Incoming Material Coordination
- Ensures all incoming raw materials progress efficiently through receiving, sampling, quality testing, release, and inventory availability.
- Coordinates priorities between Receiving, Quality, and Warehouse teams.
- Escalates issues that could delay manufacturing.
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Collaborates daily with Procurement, Quality Assurance, Production, Warehouse, Planning, and Regulatory.
- Drives timely resolution of supply chain issues.
- Supports continuous improvement initiatives focused on inventory, planning, and customer service.
Education Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations Management, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
Competencies / Skill Qualifications
Required
- 5+ years of experience in supply chain, planning, procurement, inventory management, or manufacturing operations.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong inventory management experience.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Preferred
- Experience in dietary supplement, food, pharmaceutical, or consumer packaged goods manufacturing.
- ERP/MRP system experience (Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, etc.).
- APICS/ASCM certification.
- Lean Manufacturing experience.
- Understanding of GMP and FDA-regulated manufacturing environments.

Travel Requirements
Primary work location is Lindon, Utah.
- Periodic travel to the Layton, Utah manufacturing facility is required to support blending operations, material readiness, and customer production activities.
- Occasional supplier or customer visits may be required, including travel to Vancouver, Canada.

This position reports directly to the General Manager.
