This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a SDE 3 DevOps based in India.
This is a senior DevOps opportunity for an experienced engineer who can take ownership of cloud infrastructure, deployment automation, and production reliability in a fast-paced technology environment. You will work across AWS-based production systems, Linux administration, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, monitoring, and troubleshooting. The role offers significant ownership over critical DevOps initiatives and requires a strong focus on automation, scalability, and operational excellence. You will collaborate closely with engineering and technology teams to improve development and deployment workflows. The environment values hands-on problem solving, accountability, and the ability to manage competing priorities. This is a remote role, with the position currently following a hybrid working model in Bangalore.
- Own and support AWS-based production environments, ensuring reliability, availability, and smooth day-to-day operations.
- Manage Linux systems and develop Bash and other shell scripts to automate operational tasks and improve efficiency.
- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, including declarative pipelines and automated deployment workflows.
- Build and manage deployment processes across multiple environments, including production.
- Implement infrastructure as code using tools such as Terraform to improve infrastructure consistency, scalability, and repeatability.
- Monitor systems and applications using platforms such as Datadog and ELK, proactively identifying and resolving operational issues.
- Work with networking concepts and services including DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, SSH, FTP, and SMTP to diagnose and resolve infrastructure and connectivity issues.
- Use Git-based repositories, preferably GitHub, as part of development and deployment workflows.
- Develop automation and operational tooling using Shell scripting, Perl, and Python where appropriate.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues, conduct root-cause analysis, and drive incidents through to resolution.
- Take ownership of assigned projects and ensure tasks are delivered to completion while balancing multiple priorities.
- Participate in on-call support, including overnight, weekend, or holiday coverage when required.
- 7–12 years of professional experience in DevOps, cloud infrastructure, IT operations, or a closely related engineering discipline.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field; B.Tech/B.E. preferred.
- Strong hands-on expertise in Linux system administration and Bash/shell scripting.
- Proven experience managing AWS-based production environments and cloud infrastructure.
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, topologies, protocols, and services such as DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, SSH, FTP, and SMTP.
- Practical experience with Shell scripting and programming or automation using Perl and/or Python.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Datadog, ELK, or comparable platforms.
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code, particularly Terraform or a similar technology.
- Strong Jenkins experience, including declarative pipelines and CI/CD implementation.
- Experience managing build and deployment processes across development, staging, and production environments.
- Familiarity with Git repositories and modern source-control workflows, preferably GitHub.
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, with a strong focus on resolving production issues efficiently.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical teams.
- Demonstrated ownership, initiative, and ability to drive projects and operational tasks through completion.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with multiple competing priorities and participating in an on-call rotation when required.
- Candidates should be able to join within 30 days or less.
- Competitive annual compensation of approximately INR 4,000,000–5,000,000.
