Diabetes Educator in Morehead City, North Carolina at Carteret Health Care

Responsible to the Director of Employee Health and Allwell. Responsibilities will be split between clinical patient care/
education, staff education, and the employee wellness program. Works in conjunction with the staff, patients ,patient families,
and physicians to improve outcomes through education with diabetes management and all other disease specific education.

The Diabetes Educator oversees the Diabetes Education Program at Carteret Healthcare. The Diabetes Care and Education
Specialist (DCES) delivers high-quality, evidence-based diabetes self-management education and support (DSMES). This dualfocused role works directly with inpatients and outpatients, designs and leads clinical in-service education for hospital nursing
and clinical staff, and collaborates with the Employee Wellness Program to promote preventive health, metabolic management,
and lifestyle wellness across the organization.
