Job Description

The Boring Company was founded to solve the problem of soul-destroying traffic by creating an underground network of tunnels. Today, we are creating the technology to increase tunneling speed and decrease costs by a factor of 10 or more with the ultimate goal of making Hyperloop adoption viable and enabling rapid transit across densely populated region
The Boring Company is seeking a hands-on Electrical Supervisor to lead commercial and industrial electrical installations, facility buildouts, maintenance, and infrastructure upgrades. This role will supervise electrical crews, coordinate contractors, manage project materials, schedules, and work directly in the field to execute projects.
Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and schedule electrical crews and projects.
  • Perform hands-on commercial and industrial electrical installations, repairs, and upgrades.
  • Plan and execute infrastructure improvements such as electrical upgrades or expansions.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve electrical problems.
  • Select materials and hardware for any electrical tasks to be performed.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on systems, tools, and equipment as needed.
  • Support the IT team as needed by running conduit, fiber, etc.
  • Complete as-builts after work is completed
  • Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with applicable electrical codes and standards.
  • Coordinate and serve as the primary point of contact for outside electrical contractors.

Basic Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 5 years experience working as a journeyman electrician

Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Experience working with high voltage/low voltage
  • Strong knowledge of national and local electrical codes
  • Good organizational and planning skills
  • Ability to specify all electrical materials, create a bill of materials, and gather quotes as needed
  • Ability to develop single line drawings and rough schematics of electrical systems as needed
  • Strong understanding of electrical circuits and wiring
  • Strong understanding of power distribution systems, transformers and load sizing.
  • Experience installing conduit and running cable through conduit and trenches.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics and electrical blueprints.
  • Ability to use various testing and maintenance equipment.
  • Ability to work without supervision.
  • Ability to work under aggressive deadlines.
