Job Description
High Side Technology has requirements for a senior-level architect to support advanced solutions design, software engineering, and modernization initiatives for national security and Intelligence Community (IC) customers. Requirements include designing, integrating, deploying, and optimizing cloud-native analytic services, automation solutions, and scalable network and data platforms that enable advanced analytics, artificial intelligence (AI), and machine learning (ML) capabilities. All positions will work as part of an integrated government / contractor team in supporting and operationalizing new capability initiatives.
- Design, develop, and support software architectures that enable advanced intelligence analytics, C4ISR mission applications, and mission-critical operational capabilities.
- Lead the architecture, integration, and deployment of software applications, analytic frameworks, microservices, APIs, and distributed systems supporting complex mission requirements.
- Define application and system architectures that promote scalability, modularity, interoperability, maintainability, and secure integration across enterprise and edge environments.
- Provide technical leadership for the modernization of legacy applications and transition to cloud-native, service-oriented, and microservices-based architectures.
- Architect software solutions supporting AI, machine learning, computer vision, data analytics, and other advanced analytic capabilities, ensuring solutions are scalable and production-ready.
- Design and implement event-driven architectures, automated workflows, rules engines, APIs, and analytic services that reduce manual intelligence processes and improve mission efficiency.
- Collaborate closely with software engineers, data scientists, ML engineers, DevSecOps engineers, system engineers, and government stakeholders to translate mission requirements into scalable and executable software architectures.
- Establish software architecture patterns, standards, interfaces, and technical approaches that enable reusable components, common services, and interoperability across mission applications.
- Design software solutions that support high availability, resiliency, security, scalability, and performance across distributed enterprise and edge environments.
- Define and support Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automated testing, CI/CD, configuration management, and deployment automation in support of modern DevSecOps practices.
- Develop and maintain software architecture documentation, technical roadmaps, interface specifications, design artifacts, and implementation strategies supporting cloud-native and distributed processing capabilities.
- Evaluate emerging software development frameworks, cloud-native technologies, architectural patterns, and engineering practices and recommend solutions that improve system performance, automation, scalability, and mission effectiveness.
- Provide technical leadership during architecture reviews, software design reviews, integration activities, testing, troubleshooting, and production deployments.
- Coordinate with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure secure software integration, interoperability, interface compatibility, and successful delivery of mission capabilities.
- Desired Experience
- Master’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Management Information Systems, or a related STEM field.
- Senior- or expert-level experience designing and implementing software architectures and enterprise applications in government or industry environments.
- Demonstrated experience architecting complex software solutions within DoD, Intelligence Community, or other mission-critical environments.
- Experience designing cloud-native applications and distributed systems using modern service-oriented, microservices, event-driven, or API-driven architectures.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, including architecture and integration of cloud compute, storage, networking, security, and application services.
- Experience designing and integrating APIs, microservices, enterprise applications, and distributed software systems across complex environments.
- Experience supporting DevSecOps environments, including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, automated deployments, source control, configuration management, and software release processes.
- Experience designing, deploying, and optimizing Kubernetes and containerized application environments.
- Experience architecting and integrating solutions involving data-intensive applications, Big Data, advanced analytics, AI/ML, or other high-volume/high-performance processing capabilities.
- Experience designing software solutions that integrate with data platforms, analytic services, enterprise systems, and external APIs.
- Experience operating within secure cloud and software environments subject to DoD, Intelligence Community, or other government security requirements.
- Ability to communicate complex technical architectures to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, develop clear architecture documentation, and provide technical direction to engineering teams.
The Senior Engineer / Architect will work on government site and as part of a distributed multi-disciplinary team. This position requires interaction with government customers at all levels of authority and technical acuity and requires the ability to communicate technical and programmatic information through excellent verbal and written communication skills.
