Job Title: Human Resources Assistant
Location: Richmond, Virginia
Shift: 1st
Starting Compensation Range: $23.59 - $29.66 per hour
What You Will Do:
- Support onboarding process following hire, including completion and processing of new hire paperwork
- Assist with maintenance of recruiting portal of HRIS, including creating job postings and ensuring they adhere to AAP posting regulations, collaborating with hiring managers and recruiters, ensuring interview feedback is submitted and applicants are dispositioned
- Prepare applicant flow data for Carter’s annual AAP
- Provide timely and professional customer service by responding to applicant and employee questions and requests
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date HR files, records, and documentation in accordance with legal and company standards
- Ensure confidentiality and security of all HR-related files and records
- Provide general administrative support to HR department
- Prepare materials and packets for new employee orientation
- Assist with planning and execution of HR-sponsored events such as benefits enrollment, employee recognition programs, holiday gatherings, and retirement celebrations
- Support special projects as needed (e.g., employee gift and calendar distribution, bulletin board updates)
- Collaborate with team to support and advance Continuous Improvement goals and initiatives
- Perform other related duties as assigned
What We’re Looking For:
- Minimum of two years’ Human Resources experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, preferred
- Professional Human Resources Certification, preferred
- Self-starter able to work with limited supervision
- Excellent communication and telephone skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Good computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook)

Physical Requirements:
- Regularly required to sit and talk or hear
- Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus.
