Position Summary

Ona Polymers, LLC is an innovative manufacturer of water-based emulsions for the coatings, adhesives, and graphic arts industries, selling under the brand names “Dura Pro” and “Ona”. We are seeking a reliable, safety-focused Floor Operator to join our manufacturing team. This position is responsible for safely processing chemical products by following operating instructions, operating production equipment, transferring materials, and maintaining quality standards. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Swing Shift: 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM Days/Nights According to Shift

Essential Job Functions

  • Transfer materials between tanks, totes, and drums using pumps and hoses by following SOPs.
  • Monitor production processes and make adjustments as directed.
  • Collect product samples for Quality Control testing.
  • Read and record production data, including batch records, temperatures, weights, and processing times.
  • Inspect equipment before, during, and after production runs.
  • Clean hoses, pumps, and work areas between batches.
  • Identify and report equipment malfunctions, quality concerns, or safety hazards immediately.
  • Assist with preventive maintenance and minor equipment troubleshooting.
  • Follow all safety, environmental, housekeeping, and quality procedures.
  • Maintain accurate production documentation.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and assist in other production areas as needed.
  • Record operating data such as process conditions, test results, and instrument readings
  • Confer with technical and supervisory personnel to report or resolve conditions affecting safety, efficiency, and product quality
  • Draw samples of products, and conduct quality control tests in order to monitor processing, and to ensure that standards are met
  • Regulate or shut down equipment during emergency situations, as directed by supervisory personnel
  • Interpret chemical reactions visible through sight glasses, and review laboratory test reports for process adjustments
  • Calculate material requirements or yields according to formulas.
  • Waste water treatment monitoring
Requirements:

Requirements:

Preferred/required previous experience in:

  • Previous experience in operating chemical processing equipment
  • Chemical manufacturing or industrial production experience.
  • Experience with pumps, valves, filters, mixers, and bulk liquid transfers.
  • Operating power-driven pumps
  • Use of measuring tools or equipment
  • Hose changes and cleaning
  • Experience in water treatment a plus
  • Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience using ERP or production tracking systems.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times, including safety glasses, steel-toe footwear, hearing protection, gloves, hard hat or bump cap, and any other PPE required for specific tasks.
  • Unrestricted ability to sit, stand, walk, reach, stoop, kneel, crawl, climb stairs, ladders and balance.
  • Unrestricted ability to use hands and arms.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull and/or move 55 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles, and a wide range of temperatures.
  • Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
  • Noise level is usually loud.
