Quality Engineer in Ontario, New York at DJ Acquisition Management Corp

Summary:

The primary purpose of this position is to hold responsibility for assurance and compliance to internal, customer, governing standards and expectations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

· Quality and manufacturing personnel communication and guidance.

· Supplier sourcing and development to ensure vendor capabilities, contract expectations, quality and delivery are achieved.?

· Develops operational instructions for new equipment, process and inspection activities.?

· Develops functional workbooks in Excel to manage and analyze information.

· Analyzes process data for suggestions to drive improvements.?

· Supports Production and Quality by providing training and documentation to complete routine operational activities.?

· Perform and facilitate root-cause investigation of internal nonconforming material, customer complaints and CAPA activities.?

· Participate/facilitate layered process audits.

· Participate with the launch of new and changing projects (APQP, PPAP, Change Control).?

· Participate in process developments and improvements using DOE (Design of Experiments).?

· Develop inspection fixtures.?

· Develop and debug assembly/test fixturing then develop operational procedures and work instructions.?

· Maintain the calibration data base, process and records.?

· Implement training and documentation control.

· All other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum of AS degree in a technical discipline desired, ASQ, CQT or CQE preferred.
• Minimum 3 years in an industrial environment as a manufacturing or Quality Professional required.
• Experience in ISO and AS preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints/drawings and perform Quality Inspection with mechanical/functional gaging and test equipment
• Demonstrated use and understanding of analytical problem solving tools preferred.
• Demonstrated use and understanding of Six Sigma Techniques preferred.
• Knowledge of welding techniques and standards such as AWS D1.1, 1.2, EN and ISO standards desired
• Knowledge and use of ISO 9001 desired
