Description:

Position Summary

The Production Inventory Specialist is responsible for the accurate and timely movement of materials between inventory and production jobs within the M1 ERP system. This role ensures that materials issued to jobs and materials received back from jobs are recorded correctly, that on-hand quantities remain accurate, and that all transactions comply with Apex Geotech Solutions' Inventory Management Standard Operating Procedures. The Production Inventory Specialist works closely with the Site Inventory Manager, production personnel, and the broader Supply Chain team to support smooth production flow and reliable inventory data.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Material Issues to Jobs

• Issue materials from inventory to production jobs in M1 using Material Issue Entry, including adding materials from the applicable Job Materials List.

• Verify Job ID, job type, assembly, and material/operation sequence information before issuing materials.

• Confirm on-hand quantities are sufficient and enter accurate issue quantities, applying partial issues when a job does not require the full allocated amount.

• Review and verify all detail lines prior to posting, understanding that posted material issues move parts from inventory to the job and cannot be edited afterward.

• Initiate and post material issue reversals when errors are identified, following the correct reversal procedure.

Material Receipts (Miscellaneous & Job-Related)

• Process Miscellaneous Receipt Entries to a job or to inventory for parts requiring a receipt record, including part revision, supplier, and cost verification.

• Enter Purchase Order Receipts using Receipt Management, including adding order lines, marking received quantities, and posting to bring inventory on hand.

• Process RMA (customer return) receipts by matching against RMA claims, verifying quantities, and routing items to inspection when required.

• Perform receipt lookups to research and support existing transactions as needed.

Inventory Accuracy & Adjustments

• Perform daily Inventory (Quantity) Adjustments to reclass inventory lengths/quantities after each job and prior to the end of shift.

• Investigate and correct discrepancies between physical counts and system on-hand quantities, entering the correct total quantity counted and a clear adjustment description.

• Support cycle count and physical inventory processes as procedures are formalized and rolled out.

General Responsibilities

• Maintain organized, timely, and complete transaction records, including reference notes explaining adjustments and miscellaneous receipts.

• Report needed changes, additions, or process gaps in the SOP to the Site Inventory Manager.

• Collaborate with production, inventory, and yard personnel to resolve material discrepancies and support job schedules.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area consistent with site safety standards.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

• 6+ months of experience in inventory, warehouse, production, or materials handling preferred; manufacturing environment a plus.

• Experience with ERP/inventory management systems required; familiarity with M1 (ECI) strongly preferred.

• Strong attention to detail and comfort working with quantities, part numbers, revisions, and unit costs.

• Basic computer proficiency, including data entry accuracy and navigating multi-screen software applications.

• Ability to read and follow standard operating procedures precisely.

• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across production, purchasing, and shipping teams.

• Ability to lift materials as required by the role (up to 50 lbs.) and work in a production/warehouse environment.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

• Primarily based on the production floor and in an office/workstation setting for ERP data entry.

• Exposure to a manufacturing environment, including noise, equipment, and moving materials.

• Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, and lift materials.

• Use of computer terminal for extended periods to complete ERP transactions.
