Foreman

Locations: Atlanta, Georgia / Montgomery, Alabama
Employment Type: Full-Time / Hourly
Travel Requirement: Extensive Overnight and Out-of-State Travel

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced, dependable, and safety-focused Foreman to supervise field crews performing industrial cleaning projects. Projects may include cleaning digesters, lagoons, tanks, processing areas, and other customer facilities.

The Foreman will direct the crew, coordinate daily job activities, maintain a safe work environment, and ensure each project is completed correctly, efficiently, and on schedule. This position requires extensive travel, and the employee should expect to be away from home for much of their employment.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who communicates clearly, takes ownership of the work, and has the integrity to make the right decisions—even when no one is watching.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise field crews performing industrial cleaning projects.
• Direct the cleaning of digesters, lagoons, tanks, equipment, and other assigned work areas.
• Assign daily responsibilities and clearly communicate job expectations.
• Ensure employees understand the work plan, safety requirements, and proper use of equipment.
• Take responsibility for job completion, quality, productivity, and crew performance.
• Review project requirements and develop an effective work plan.
• Coordinate the labor, equipment, tools, materials, and transportation required for each project.
• Conduct daily safety meetings, job-hazard assessments, and pre-work inspections.
• Enforce company safety procedures and applicable regulations.
• Verify that employees wear all required personal protective equipment.
• Monitor job progress and adjust assignments when conditions or customer needs change.
• Identify and report safety hazards, equipment problems, spills, injuries, and other incidents immediately.
• Communicate professionally with customers, supervisors, operations personnel, and crew members.
• Provide regular updates regarding job progress, delays, staffing needs, and equipment concerns.
• Complete required job reports, time records, safety documents, inspection forms, and project paperwork.
• Inspect equipment before and after each project and report maintenance or repair needs.
• Maintain an organized, professional, and safe jobsite.
• Train, coach, and develop crew members while holding employees accountable for performance and conduct.
• Assist with physical labor and equipment operation when needed.
• Travel to project locations throughout the assigned region and other states as required.
• Perform other duties based on operational needs.

• Take charge of the jobsite and accept responsibility for the crew’s performance and project results.
• Make responsible decisions without requiring constant supervision.

Minimum Qualifications

• Previous foreman, crew-lead, construction, industrial-cleaning, or related field experience.
• Demonstrated experience supervising employees and coordinating jobsite activities.
• Strong leadership and decision-making abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read and follow work orders, safety procedures, project plans, and customer instructions.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to complete and submit accurate job-related paperwork.
• Willingness and ability to travel extensively and remain away from home for extended periods.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime when required.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to pass all required pre-employment screenings.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience cleaning digesters, lagoons, tanks, or industrial facilities.
• Experience working around wastewater, biosolids, food waste, or organic materials.
• Knowledge of confined-space procedures and industrial safety requirements.
• Experience operating pumps, hoses, pressure washers, vacuum equipment, or heavy machinery.
• OSHA, confined-space, first-aid, CPR, or other relevant safety certifications.
• CDL or experience operating commercial vehicles and trailers.

Physical and Work Requirements

• Regularly lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50–75 pounds.
• Stand and walk for extended periods.
• Bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, reach, and perform repetitive physical tasks.
• Work around wastewater, biosolids, mud, chemicals, dust, debris, and unpleasant odors.
• Work outdoors in heat, cold, rain, and other changing weather conditions.
• Work in wet, muddy, noisy, and physically demanding environments.
• Wear required personal protective equipment for extended periods.
• Work near heavy equipment, moving machinery, hoses, pumps, and active cleaning operations.
• Safely enter confined spaces when properly trained, authorized, and equipped.

Travel Expectations

This is a travel-intensive position. The Foreman should expect to travel to customer locations throughout the region and potentially nationwide. Overnight stays and extended time away from home will be a regular part of the job. Travel schedules will be based on project locations, customer needs, and operational requirements.
