Culinary Team Member – Deli Cook in Stamford, Connecticut at First Stamford Cafe LLC

We are seeking an experienced, energetic, and customer-focused Deli Cook to join our corporate dining team. This full-time, weekday position is ideal for someone who enjoys preparing fresh, high-quality food and delivering exceptional service in a fast-paced corporate dining environment. Working closely with the Chef and kitchen team, you will help prepare and present deli offerings while maintaining the highest standards of food quality and safety. • Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold menu items, including:
• Sandwiches and wraps
• Deli platters and cold displays
• Grilled and roasted meats
• Grilled vegetables
• Salads, dressings, and condiments
• Fried foods and specialty deli items
• Follow standardized recipes and preparation procedures.
• Ensure proper food handling, storage, and temperature control practices.
• Assist with menu preparation, batch cooking, and daily production.
• Maintain attractive food presentation and consistent product quality.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
• Assist with inventory control, stock rotation, and receiving deliveries.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workspace.
• Provide friendly, professional customer service.
• Adhere to all company, health department, and food safety standards.

• 1-3 years of experience in a deli, café, corporate dining, catering, or related food service environment.
• Strong customer service skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Knowledge of food preparation, sanitation, and food safety procedures.
• Experience preparing a variety of deli and prepared foods.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Strong attention to detail, cleanliness, and organization.
• Ability to follow recipes and production instructions consistently.

Preferred Qualifications

• ServSafe Certification or equivalent food safety certification.
• Experience using:
• Deli slicers
• Panini presses
• Commercial knives
• Flat-top griddles
