Full-Time, Part-Time, or PRN Occupational Therapist Community-Based in Detroit, Michigan at Galaxy Brain and Therapy Center

Galaxy Brain and Therapy Center is a clinic based in Ann Arbor, Michigan, but has community-based therapists across Michigan. Galaxy is seeking a creative, collaborative occupational therapist who is passionate about providing meaningful, person-centered care. As a community-based occupational therapist, you will support individuals affected by brain injury as they work toward greater independence, participation, and quality of life.

Services are provided in clients’ homes and communities, allowing therapy to address the real-life activities, environments, and challenges that matter most to each person. You may work with clients at different stages of rehabilitation, from focused, short-term interventions to longer-term support.

Through individualized treatment, practical strategies, skilled education, and collaboration with clients, families, caregivers, and other members of the care team, you will help clients pursue meaningful goals and participate more fully in their daily lives.

Responsibilities may include:

• Completing occupational therapy evaluations and developing individualized plans of care
• Providing evidence-based treatment in clients’ homes and community settings
• Addressing daily living skills, executive functioning, cognition, routines, home management, community participation, and other meaningful activities
• Educating clients, families, and caregivers
• Collaborating with physicians, case managers, rehabilitation professionals, and other members of the care team
• Completing accurate and timely clinical documentation
• Supporting safe transitions and greater independence within clients’ everyday environments

We are looking for therapists in Detroit, Howell, Farmington Hills, Downriver, Royal Oak, Sterling Heights, Hamtramck, Lincoln Park, Troy, Southfield, Saint Clair Shores, and more!

This position serves clients in their homes. We work with therapists to build a territory in their region.

Travel time between client appointments is paid, and mileage is reimbursed according to Galaxy’s current reimbursement policy. Caseloads and schedules are coordinated with consideration for geographic location whenever possible.

• Degree in occupational therapy from an accredited program
• Current occupational therapy license in the State of Michigan
• Experience in neurological rehabilitation
• Valid driver’s license
• Dependable personal vehicle with current automobile insurance
• Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently in clients’ homes and community settings
• Eligibility to provide services to clients with Medicare and commercial insurance
• Ability to comply with applicable state and federal regulations
