Outbound Team Leader in at TLD Logistics Services Inc

The Outbound Team Lead is a critical leadership role responsible for overseeing daily warehouse activities, including order picking, packing, staging, and shipping. The successful candidate is expected to a leadership philosophy that priorities respect for people, disciplined execution, and a relentless pursuit of efficiency. This role serves as the bridge between hourly associates and senior management, ensuring that all outbound operations meet strict KPI targets while fostering a culture of continuous improvement (Kaizen) and safety.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Operational & KPI Management

• Lead and coordinate daily outbound operations to ensure 100% on-time performance for all outbound routes.
• Manage to customer KPI goals, specifically focusing on productivity and quality.
• Support and develop daily workload planning to optimize labor allocation and Outbound throughput.
• Implement and maintain strong visual management controls, including progress control boards and real-time status updates.

2. Leadership & Team Member Development

• Lead with a "Respect for People" mindset, ensuring a positive and professional work environment.
• Ensure labor stability within the department by utilizing proactive leadership methods to maintain morale and reduce turnover.
• Serve as the primary liaison between Team Members and management, facilitating transparent and excellent verbal and written communication.

3. Continuous Improvement & Waste Elimination

• Actively identify and eliminate waste within the operation to streamline workflows and reduce costs.
• Apply PDCA & Root Cause analysis techniques to resolve operational discrepancies and prevent recurrences.
• Drive Continuous Improvement initiatives by encouraging associate feedback and implementing small-scale improvements to daily tasks.

4. Safety & 5S Discipline

• Maintain a "Safety First" culture, ensuring all team members adhere to strict safety protocols and reporting standards.
• Enforce rigorous 5S Discipline to ensure a clean, organized, and efficient workspace at all times.
• Regular, reliable, and punctual on-site attendance is an essential function of this position due to the operational nature of the work. The employee must be able to report to the designated work location as scheduled and maintain a level of attendance and punctuality that enables the employee to effectively perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the position and meet operational requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation. Working conditions· Working conditions are normal for an office/warehouse environment. Working conditions cover a range of circumstances from weekdays, evening, and weekends.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

· High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.

· 2+ years of experience in a warehouse or distribution center.

· Experience in Outbound Team Lead is preferred.

· Familiarity with WMS and RF scanning devices.

· Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power point.

· Excellent communications skills, verbal & written required.

· Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

· Problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.

· Forklift or MHE certification is a plus.
